Hey Luis. Yesterday I saw your 2.5 year piano progress video and I just wanted to say I'm utterly inspired. It's beautiful to see someone try so hard and persistently to achieve what they want. However, I felt as though a few details were missing. As someone who has started self-teaching around 3 months ago, I'm sure I can relate to how you probably felt in the early days as though online guidance simply wasn't working, no matter how hard I tried. Anyways, I mainly just wanted to ask whether you learned your first few songs with visual representations, or notation? Your methods obviously worked but from what the video implied was that you simply pressed the notes you saw other people press until you learned sheet music. Please get back to me about what you think I should try to do first; learn songs through sheet music or visual representation?
Hey, thank you! I appreciate it 🙏🏽 Indeed, I just used visual / synthesia tutorials, the same as in this video. For more technical tutorials you can check channels like Josh Wright, Denis Zhdanov, Antune, Piano Secrets, Piano Lab, etc. As for what you should do first, only you know the answer. What's your goal? If you want to be good at sight reading, practice that. If you prefer to learn by ear, that's also great. Just focus on what you would like to achieve and you will get there 👍🏼
Hello, i just started but everywhere I look for a sheet music I have to pay it. Do you have any tip ? By the way, are you brazilian? Thank you for you music 🤍
Hey, thank you for watching! I'm Portuguese. Usually sheet music is only free if it's a public domain piece / song, otherwise you have to pay for it. You can check IMSLP for free sheet music 👍🏼
Hello, I would like to make a request: Dirk Maassen. To the sky, Augenblick, Anmut and above all Skin on Skin. Max Richter with II. Mrs Dalloway: In The Garden. Sure, without violin, but beautiful. Light & Shadow by Philip Wesley is also beautiful. Maybe there is something still unknown. Keep up your work! You have inspired me!
Hello! I love your videos I just found your channel! I’m a self taught pianist as well and I was wondering how you film your videos like these ones. I’ve seen apps to do it but do you have to plug things into your piano? I can’t tell if you have one with the ability to like plug your phone in or not. I have a basic upright piano so I’m not sure if there’s a way I could film videos like these on my piano
Hey Carlie, thank you! You need a digital piano with MIDI ports. Then you use a MIDI to USB cable to connect the piano to a laptop or phone with an app that detects MIDI. I use SeeMusic on my laptop
@@luisgracameaning blinking lights I also have that app for learning but it looks more like game, real notes are better for me but hard to read if more complicated :)

That’s gorgeous, Luis! I haven’t heard this song before - what a lovely treat in Christmas time ✨
Thank you!
Merry Christmas 🎄
Amazing 😊
Thank you!

Hey!
Just watched your Progression Video from a year ago.
I asked myself, do you know how to read notes?
Hey, Lukas!
I can read notes, but still very slowly. I've been playing by ear more than reading lately. I find it more motivating
can you play la campenella?
No, I never practiced it
have you commented to EthanVinecent piano

I had to go check. I have haha
do you learn from the notes or that blinking diodes? what is easier? did you get any piano lessons?
I learned this one by ear. What are blinking diodes? Haha
I got some lessons this year but mostly self taught

@@michal5869 keep practicing, you will get better at it!
