Is it worth it 1500?
probably not for a sim racer. but for what it IS, i can see why it costs that much. it is a real race car rim after all. it'd be like putting an FIA full containment seat on your sim rig. that being said, its very cool and if i had money id put one in my street car lol

Well, comparing the price with some other real wheels (converting the real AMG wheel, FI-Tech does that for 1800 Euro excl. taxes) its a great price for motorsport standarts
For its extreme price point, it just doesn't have that wow factor, you could buy a premium wheelbase for that money or buy several wheels, it wants to be an awesome handling wheel for the price.
got mine a few months ago and can’t stop using it. buttons and thumb rotaries are definitely a highlight even with thick gloves
oddly enough i haven’t gotten the two way paddles to work in any sim yet
@@jodyestevens9911 in iRacing at least, you map the paddles normally then in the controls, map an alternate up/down shift as the “push” of each one

little note about the seperate usb wheel cable thing, because of some electronics, the wheel HAS to be updated using that usb wheel cable thing, cant be done through the wheelbase. (unless they've changed it)
might need to buy a bmw gt3 to justify this for my sim....

as cool as it is that this could be installed onto a real race car, i think its an entirely pointless and usless gimmick that skyrockets the price of a wheel which would have been really nice for any sim gt3 fans, i think they need to have a sim only variant of this wheel for significantly less maybe made with cheaper materials so normal people could afford it

I know its not replica but that's where they failed for such a price point not to have customisable buttons. Because come on where you going to use Drink button... Just because its premium it needed to have a stickers included with naked caps. Other then that yes mega wheel but I think Cubes release equally cool Merc wheel for much less

I may be wrong but according to the fnanatec site, the BMW M4 GT3 is only 2kg (Carbon is light), it's even lighter than the CSL WRC wheel (2.1kg) and very close to the CSL Mclaren (1.8kg) and all those wheels are perfect for the CSL DD.
The weights you mentioned are the packaging weights, not the product weights. The BMW is NOT lighter than the WRC. The WRC is close to 1kg (exact weight with QR1 Liite is 1092g, with QR1 its 1280g), so definitely not over 2kg. Same for McLaren. The M4 GT3 has an exact weight of 1629g which is absolutely okay for 8 Nm and even for 5 Nm DD bases.
Yes, youre right the Wheel is to heavy for the DDPro 8NM. I mean you can drive, But you dont have the same feeling that you have with the McLaren

Is Fanatec still working on the quick release V2?
Mine was well worth the price. it's the best feeling wheel I have ever used. People hate on it because it doesn't have a screen, but I race in VR so the in-game dash is all I need. The layout of the buttons, number of mappable inputs and the size of the rotaries are perfect for VR. The quality of the build is excellent and this is more important to mee than having a dash. I have enough inputs that my hands never need to leave the wheel.
Yes, they are 100% working on it. A few have used it, ADAC Expo 2022. It is amazing

Funny, got this wheel when it first came out and still waiting for the new quick release. Since Thomas is busy racing, I expect to see the new quick release available to the general public the same time level 5 self driving is out of beta officially from Tesla...
I disagree that fanatec makes the best shifter. I own a wheel with megaline shifters and it is no where near the quality and feel of a real gt3 paddle shifter from megaline.
I had the Podium shifters, and I thought they were pretty meeh.. In my opinion Asher Racing shifters are 2x as good as fanatecs toys

I have a DTM class 1 wheel with megaline and I also have this wheel. Nothing beats my DTM :)
