Me and my friends are gonna play Origin when it goes live.
Hey great videos! I was wondering could you make a beginners guide to grouping and questing in EQ2 origins? I come from EQ1 and I am completely new to EQ2, but I figure day 1 I am going to be completely lost of where to go and what to do as well as how to group with others, gain exp etc. Also any videos on just basic important stuff to know like crafting, or what loot to keep etc. would be VERY helpful, thanks!
I can definitely do some basics videos like that. Good suggestions. I am working on class videos for origins, but it's definitely a lot of effort lol
@@bear.necessities Cool man been watching all your EQ2 videos we appreciate it!
+1 to the idea of a day 1 / week 1 video. Basic navigation to the mender, tradeskill tutor, broker, class trainer etc. would be useful for both Qeynos and Freeport.
@@Back2SquareOne All those necessities will be right in your home neighborhood where you spawn in after leaving the start Isle and different for almost every race.
Tradeskill and Broker are in the Tradeskill area in your hometown which looks like a wooden cellar bulkhead. Mender is right in the same area. Class Trainer isn't worth using, your spells go from Apprentice 1, to Apprentice II. Crafted spells are Apprentice IV, either make them or get them off broker. They should have some "fun spells" still though. Also, ask a guard in town for a waypoint to any of these things.
Very well put together and explained!
Thanks!
nice vid, thanks Bear!
love your vids man!!
Thank you
Hey Bear, quick question, I know you listed agility as a defensive stat, but does it have anything to do with attack speed or DPS output for scouts? I think it used to give attack speed. Thanks!
It doesn't give attack speed. Purely a defensive stat.
thanks for this. will def keep it around to go back to time and time again once Anashti Sul actually launches
Hey Bear! Thanks for the helpful video! Quick question... how important are racial traits/stats going to be on Origins? For example, will I be noticeably weaker than other players of the same class if they pick the 'most optimal' race for the class and I don't?
Not super important or game breaking - but if you are min maxing - they definitely do make a difference
Does mitigation depend on armor type, or is chain mail that has mitigation of 50 the same as plate with a mitigation of 50?
Nope. The mitigation is the same on those two items - plate just typically has more mitigation than chain. But there are some exceptions
So for a bard agility in a grouping scenario isnt needed? Better to focus on int and strength?
Also would love more origins videos!
Correct! Strength and int is perfect for bards.
So troub is wanted for a melee group and not just casters now?
@@World3mpir3 If they have a str buff it will help melee classes.
On Origins why does the tooltip say every other offensive stat other than wisdom does nothing for my class?
Yeah, looks like tool tips never got fixed in beta.
Classes are only getting 2 stats that Benefits them main stats , most tanks are stamina and strength
This has been confirmed by the devs that the tooltips are not showing the correct info.
@@christopherg7483 - Correct.
what is that soft cap # at 50 on origins.. any idea?
No idea yet. We didn't get to beta test all the way to 50. The best way to notice is whenever you add more of a stat, you see less of an increase. So, if you get to 200 STR (which could be soft cap), then you add 10 STR, if going from 190 -> 200 gives more combat art damage than going from 200 -> 210, then you know the soft cap. Will take some testing when the server drops.
@@bear.necessities I also went hard on beta. Was fun. Hope live has the same feel.
So are healing spells scaled off of Int then?
Nope! Healing Spells don't scale at all. They are set. As a healer, you can increase your mana pool by adding Wisdom and Int for more spell damage.
@@bear.necessities awesome! Thank you so much! Happy Questing!
Clearly tells you in your player window that other stats give no benefit
The tooltips are currently bugged. They have a fix for these internally it just hasn't rolled out yet.
