Yea, that's my frustration for Fallout and the 3 Body Problem. Too much time in between seasons. Obviously, the cat feels that frustration as well😂😂.

The time in between is crazy. Just like Gowron!

YOUR CAT IS NAMED GOWRON!??!!? That is an excellent cat name.
Your reviews are slowly convincing me to check out SNW but I feel like I need to finish TOS and Discovery first. Discovery has been rough to get through for me as the writing is more high stakes action driven rather then the episodic philosophical and ethical exploration I associate with Star Trek. It's there but it seems like an afterthought to me. I am still in season 1 so hopefully that gets better or I get used to it so far the setup and characters have not grabbed me.

Thanks, she is a crazy cat! Discovery is hard to get through. I wasn't able to keep going. SNW is closer to what you are looking for but it could be better.

I tried to watch Season 1 and just couldn't get into it. For one thing, it felt like they never had actually written long enough story to fill the run-time and were just tacking on a bunch of extra crap and fillers to make up the difference. It felt like there was usually less than 30 minutes of actual show and the rest of it just drags. They could have done a 30 minute format and done twice as many episodes IMO. Secondly, I really didn't like what they did with Uhura's character and I didn't care for the actress... it just didn't work. And the obsession with the Gorn bored me to tears. My least favorite eras of Star Trek have been the ones where they get bogged down fighting the Borg for half the episodes. The Gorn plotline felt repetitive, the CGI looked bad, and it just bogged down the show. I don't want Star Trek to be Dr Who. I don't even like it when Dr Who is figting the same baddies over and over again. The Romulans and Klingons are only in a handful of episodes of TOS and the series is all the better for it! Let's see Strange NEW Worlds!
Lastly, the thing that ultimately caused me to give up watching was the super agressive Paramount+ advertising scheme. 5 minutes of ads for every 2 minutes of show that cannot be skipped meant that the last one hour episode I attempted to watch would have taken over 2.5 hours to watch if I hadn't just given up half-way through. That experience definitely did not convince me to spend my hard-earned money on Paramount+. So I gave up, not even caring what happens next because at that point I felt like I had already been bludgeoned with a story that was going no-where. If I could just rent the show I would consider trying again. Netflix killed Blockbuster and now there's nothing like that anymore. Streaming sucks and I'm not interested. Sigh.

I would love twice as many episodes. You made some really good points here. I didn't realize you could watch it with ads. That is crazy. Hopefully you can find cheap bluray copies eventually so you don't have to deal with that. Thanks for being here.

@@LiminalSpaces03 Yeah, I don't know if they still do it, but I think it was part of a cheaper bundle deal. They had a limited number of skippable ads at like a reasonable ad pacing of 4 per episode. So first two episodes no ads. Then they increased the number and length of ads. By I think the 5th episode it was literally 5 minutes of ads per 2 minutes of show... I got out my stopwatch app because I just couldn't beleive it. And long ads... like 1.5mins per ad. And the wildest part... only like 4 sponsors so it was literally the same ads over and over and over... sometimes the same ones twice during the same ad break. Absolute worst experience I've ever had with ads and it convinced me to not give Paramount any of my money. Its no wonder they keep having to cancel shows because they treat their customers like garbage.

I have to say that Kurtzman Trek is sub par when compared to rest of the canon. Fun is fun but I really can't take seriously Discovery, Picard, SNW. Latest season of Picard was a bit better.

I really did enjoy that latest season of Picard. I hope they push the Sci Fi harder in the future.

Had such high hopes for SNW. Kurtzman Trek is woke trash.

Star Trek has always been woke but I really could use more Sci Fi.

All Trek seems pretty woke to me. I just wish we had a little more Sci Fi in the mix.
