Straight to the point and informative, thank you.

Great video! How can you tell who saw which block when later looking at the results?

You have to go to the Data & Analysis-page in Qualtrics and double-click on each response to the survey. When you look through the selected response it will show above the answer what question the respondent was asked.

@@davecullins1606 is this the only way? It would be hard to do that with hundreds of participants.

@@melodymelody98 There might be, but I don't know it. A quicker way would probably be to download the data, then open the data window and look at all the rows of responses and then hide the columns that you aren't interested in and literally narrow the ones that you are interested in so you can have more of them on the screen at the same time. Each block will appear as its own column so if there's block A, B, and C, there will be a column for block A, then one for block B, and then C. Anyone who saw block A will have some sort of value in block A and everyone who didn't see block A will have nothing displayed under the block A column.

Add a timer, because the time will show you which one they got.

The use case I have is where I built my survey in Qualtrics where I want to assess the trainees before and after the training. My goal is how the training helped them improve on the domain. How can I build this in Qualtrics where I can compare the pre-assessment scores and post-assessment scores. Any ideas? Thanks.

You need to have some way to connect person's pre and post data meaning, such as a name or a unique code you give them that they use for the whole time. You can't do it anonymously if you want to look at each person's change as a result of the training. If you don't have that as an option then you can group together all of the pre-training data and all of the post-training data. You could do that by asking a question at the start "Have you completed the training - yes or no." That works well if people might be both pre and post training at the same time. If everyone is pre at the same time and everyone is post at the same time, you can just insert an element into the flow calling it pre (or something) during the period of time it is open before the training and updating it to "post" during the time it is after the training. And you could do both if you worry you'll forget to swap it out. You will always see the date that someone did the survey so that might help you in data cleaning.

Do you know if it is possible to find out afterwards to which block a specific respondent was assigned? I cannot find it in the results...

    • @DrSweetser

You have to have an active timer for each unique stimulus (somewhere in the cell). Then when a subject is assigned to that cell, there will be data written into the variables that were created associated with the timer (number of clicks, time on element etc). The items that don't have any data (missing data, empty) did not get that particular stimulus cell.

@@DrSweetser Thank you very much for your response! I found that exporting the results while checking the checkbox for randomisation information showed me the correct data. But it is safer in the way you explained. Thank you. :-)

I want the demographics section to go to the end of the survey. How do i do that. When i click the link to survey it puts the demographics first amd not the questions as is shown in my edit form

Click on "Survey Flow", then go to the block that has the question/section you want to move, then click and hold on that little text where it says "move" and move it to the end of the survey.
