Trinity was taken out by a small dagger, while Reva and Sabine survived light saber stabs.
She just had to stop everything to completely focus on holding that damn knife in midair instead of quickly misdirecting it away from the owner. That bit was horribly executed. If that’s how Trinity goes out I want her to be a pincushion by the end lol

A Jedi master could break every bone in her body with a force manipulation. And then just look down at her with her shattered bones. "Enough strength?"

Dude im far left. Its okay to point out the difference between well written characters and stories where the characters are who they are, and "were going to make a YASS QUEEN STAR WARS!" Where the world and story revolves around that. Our side needs to stop being cowards with no nuance.

Same, I'm not anti-woke in any way per se, although I do think there is a such thing as "filling a diversity quota without giving much thought to anything else" (ie Finn, Rose, and now The Acolyte). This show is terrible.
I confess, I love hearing anyone destroy the Acoshyte. Not sure why, but it warms my soul. Thanks Adam!

Watching Star Wars at this point is like going back to an abusive relationship and thinking the person that beats you for not having dinner on the table the right time really cares about you. As Henry Jones said to Indy at the end of The Last Crusade, Let it go.

I can't even get mad about it anymore because I don't watch it but it's funny to hear these reviews and to be shocked that this is really what Disney wants to do with Star Wars. Lesbian witches and being more concerned with making the cast look like the UN instead of just writing great stories. It's just weird that these corporate people in Hollywood keep hiring activist that are clearly damaging their brand. I say keep going, I would love to see these major studios fall and society would be better off without Hollywood anyway.
I feel like the Aura that a Jedi used to have has disappeared. They don't carry the same gravitas and presence like before. Like if there was 1 just 1 jedi.. everyone would be on gaurd, NOBODY would just talk to a jedi.. there would be whispers a block away that there's 1 around somewhere..... Now they are giving away Jedi like tic tacs.. hell you can even kill one with a knife.

I honestly tried to like this show, The Acolyte. But my family and I all agreed to give it up. Personally I am loving the Boys season 4.

When i watched Theory video and you in the “montage” … i was “Nice, he’s a “real” RUclipsr now” …. Idk why I feel like it sounds almost like an insult but man i was happy to see you there.
I also liked the first minutes… sadly I also saw the trailer before and knew what i was in for.
I looked up the lady who made this show and as far as I can tell she has nothing but mediocre rom coms under her belt so can’t say I’m surprised

I like how Venestra opens the door at the Jedi temple like she's a Gen X'er walking into a Safeway. Also, how she *stressed* how important it was they keep the incident and Osha a secret... to then have the Jedi they sent put her on a "prison transport"- INSTEAD OF TAKING THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CRIMINAL WHO SUPPOSEDLY KILLED A JEDI MASTER WITH THEM- with criminals who apparently already know she's accused of murdering a Jedi? With criminals who also could have escaped apparently at any time previous to THIS time they choose to escape? 🙄

Oh, and how Yord (?) recounts Osha's past to her by telling her about her dead parents and her dead sister, and yet LATER, (maybe in ep 2) is super surprised when Sol mentions Osha had a twin sister. Like, what sister was he thinking of? Oh, well, I'd guess there were 17 different writers between those two pages in the scripts anyw- no? Just Leslye Headland?

The thing that Disney does not grasp...or at this point goes out of their way to DENY. Is that star wars a spiritual story. Kenobi introduces us to the force....tells us there is a higher power beyond the physical world. And clearly the lore mixes daoist and christian themes within this ideology. - But Disney star wars has the post modernist outlook of moral relativism - nothing means anything. There is "no good or bad, just power" and therefore we cannot derive meaning nor connect with characters or lore because it cannot and will not claim a moral message beyond "you do you, do it your way, the force is whatever you decide it is" - also we know what is going to happen in every single scene based on race/gender - women cant lose or be wrong, same goes for diverse characters. So everything becomes predictable and redundant. with the same nuetral messaging. - also how are you going to make a story about feminism and racial discrimination....in a galaxy far far away filled with thousands of species of all shapes and sizes hanging out together?
I don't watch any of these series. Didn't even know Darth Maul lived on. Such a badass character the franchise underutilized. Great review!

Everybody head over to rotten tomatoes and leave the acolyte your review. While you are there give the Star Wars Holliday special 5 stars bc all of a sudden it's good.
After episode 3 I just don't really care to even watch. This show is pure trash!!!!
I'm glad I never really cared about Star Wars, from everything I'm seeing from fans, it seems like the franchise is getting really bad.
I'm nowhere close to an "anti-woke Disney hater," and I actually don't even dislike most of Disney Star Wars (I'm meh on a lot of it and love a select few things), but THIS...and I haven't even finished the much-talked-about episode 3 yet.
😂 It's like they took all the stilted dialogue and bad acting people hate from the prequels and doubled it, only unlike the prequels, it looks cheap, lacks any semblance of a compelling story and is missing John Williams.
Thank you for not bogging down your reviews with that “Kathleen Kennedy bad” or “woke star wars etc = bad” bs which seems to be 90% of star wars reviews these days

You’re right…being better than Kenobi doesn’t mean much at all since Kenobi was terrible …I would rank The Acolyte as pretty good… “Trinity’s” death in the first episode established for me that no one is safe on this show…although I can understand why some fans would be pissed …and the show seems to be leading up to the first onscreen appearance of Plagueis
