Thanks for sharing your journey, Brent. Solid analogy with the whirlpool effect! I've always sipped my way through performing, which loosens me up (and helps the time go by on the rough gigs). I also regularly took month-long breaks for the control aspect. After hitting 40 years old though, my body processed it differently and I'd often wake up sore and sluggish the next day, sometimes from just 2 beers, so my consumption is at an all-time low now. Go Brewing has been a very welcome source for alternatives.
Happy to have shared it! Thanks for the compliment Greg🙏 It’s also free usually too. There was that feeling like u could be missing out not have some drinks as well. I think you did a great job of managing it. Glad to hear you could see it was making you sluggish. Some people won’t even consider the possibility. Thanks for watching brother!
I used to drink , not crazy 1/5th a day stuff but enough. I started getting Gout and when they say your big toe hurts they mean it. It was tough for a few months but after that I was fine. I also started getting sensitive to caffeine. Enjoy drinking and coffee while you can but coffee is hard to let go. Decaf is ok but not as good.
This was helpful to watch. I've taken a 4 month break and I've had a few drinks in that time. Your video is good encouragement to continue taking a break. Thank you!
Whirlpool analogy is awesome. I’m about two months being and playing shows stone cold sober and I can honestly say I feel like I’m playing shows on easy mode now.
@@brentbrownmusic first couple shows were the most noticeable for me. Now I don’t think I can ever go back. Love a sparkling water and a gig. Splash some gratefruit juice and we’re having a party.
@@joshjams Heck yea man! I got a soda stream at home and they have way less sugar. So I’ve been bringing my own sodas. Sparkling cranberry with a lime is great too. And ginger beer, but there’s a lot of sugar.
Thanks a ton Jim!🙏 I’m glad u were able to get out of it’s hold. I certainly will keep conscious and aware of how slippery the slope can be. Thanks for watching!
What nobody ever talks about is that alcohol is definitely the worst legalized substance to put into the human body no matter the amount. That it is so socially acceptable is mind blowing, especially the early age binge drinking in the U.S. I don't have an issue with socially drinking, none of my business, but people need to be educated about the serious internal damage of alcohol. I found a great youtube video from The Institute of Anatomy describing the entire process, pretty wild stuff.
Thanks for sharing! I’m gonna look up that video now. I appreciate you watching mine Andrew🙏 I totally agree. There ought to be a level 2 health class for high school or something, were they teach about how u can go astray in substances, health, and finances.
jeah, same here, half way into a month and idk, maybe prolong it to three months as well, note, unlike you, i was rather a binge drinker and decided to have a break, because gained too much weight and wanted to deal with it ..
I’m happy for you in taking that break!🙌 3 months is gonna be amazing if u do. I started really feeling the difference at 1.5 months. Mentally/mood wise more than anything. Wishing u the best with your goals Sven!
When I started to see alcohol for what it is, a culturally normal poison, I stopped completely, been sober now for 1 year and 7 months, best decision ever. I see alcohol as a big bubble of collective insanity.
Congrats on that Javier!🙌 It’s a massive perspective shift for sure. I agree, it’s a lot of playing with fire before knowing what fire is. Thanks for watching my friend
Good For You Brent! My hubs is 42 years sober! By choice! We refer to alcohol as liquid courage.
That’s so awesome! I bet he looks young for his age.
It certainly is liquid courage. Although self summoned courage always beats that👌

Am proud of you Brent !!
When I was about your young age, I was a drink, I couldn't get enough of it.
Keep it up !

I stopped alcohol many months ago and boy what I life changer. Such a demon it is and was.
That’s amazing! And congrats👏
I totally agree. I hope this video slightly pushed people to considering a break so that they can see that
