@@ashiau There's nothing wrong about defending a country's borders. However, that's not the point.
      The point is:
      1. If it were about borders' DEFENSE, ALL borders through the East, West and North would be as zealously guarded as the South's. They are not. The border with Canada is in its majority an open field. If it were about defense, a terrorist couldn't easily choose among a myriad of entry points.
      2. This is about racism. It's about populst, simple minded perspectives that "foreigners come to take our jobs". When in fact, as a developed nation, we suffer from the same problem all developed nations suffer. Only desperate, new immigrants are willing to take unsavory jobs, that are still necessary within a society, and jobs that offer low wages and no benefits.
      3. This wall construction from both Republican and Democrat presidents is an unsuccessful bandaid that wastes our resources, just to appease the masses. But doesn't really address the issue of illegal immigration.
      That is the point.

You find out that a lot of them are just regular citizens of Mexico wanting a better life for their selves but because of our border immigration problems we do not have a system that is set up to handle 50 billion people trying to come in every month yes that was an over exaggerated number.
Quite a few with the RUclips videos show people talking to the illegal immigrants and saying that we’re just tired of the immigration system the border system we just wanna come work and have a better life for ourselves but to get a green card to get a work visa it can take you up to 12 years Why aren’t these politicians when they have the money building better facilities hiring more judges hiring more border crossing agents to help this system move faster
I think a gentleman and his wife and two kids would probably go to the border and do it legally if they know that they’re gonna have their answer within a week or two not months

Most are not fixated per se. If Germany were connected to Egypt not Austria in the south, and this Egypt was connected to the rest of Africa and the Middle East still, you’d see it differently. The strange border to me is between the US and Canada which is the largest un-militarized one in the world. Yet the Canadians are still very strict when passing it.

When they start reproducing and there’s thousands of them… 👀

In the late 1980s the Immigration Reform Act was initially quite successful. Undocumented people who'd been in the U.S. for five years now had a path towards a green card and citizenship. They signed up for ESL and citizenship classes. People not already here stopped crossing the border. There would be no path for future undocumented border crossers.
Then the corporate farms in California began having a significant labor shortage. Instead of solving it by economics -- raising wages, they complained to Republican Senator Pete Wilson. He got border enforcement relaxed. The word got to the border that it was again 'open.' It all just faded away back to the policies that served companies seeking workers who were easy to control, could be paid low wages and who had little legal recourse for mistreatment.
In the end it's all about protecting a status quo, the INS gets their department budgeted to chase and arrest people, corporate farms and other corporations (Wallmart was busted) has a steady stream of pliable workers.
Where this really sticks out is in the south eastern Red States. Forty years ago there were no Spanish speaking immigrants. But someone showed up got work told others. Now there are thriving Latino communities in all those states. These aren't Cubans coming up from Florida. These are the very people from the very places the politicians and their voters in those states shout the loudest about. If they really are so bad, then why did they hire them? All an employer had to ask was for identification. No ID? I'm sorry I can't hire you. No one would've come.
So these immigrants might look like they've unilaterally decided to come to the U.S. In reality, they are wanted.
The other thing about immigration of any type -- it's not just good for an economy, immigration is great for an economy.

Lies. They kept on coming. And in theory you had to have been here for 5 years. People literally just came up from Mexico when they heard of this amnesty and got it. That may have resulted in a labor shortage bc many people that worked in agriculture now had better options. It takes some time to fill those spots back up. But that also results in lower food prices for you. The funny thing is that most of you complain about high food prices. Trump would actually massively increase food prices with his proposals.

Republicans are freeloaders that still haven't paid a dime towards the $4 trillion wasted on their wars. Tax cuts for the wealthy have left our nation deep in debt. Tax cuts don't pay for wars, border protection or anything else.
