    The weird experience when you are watching a very good video about set theory when suddenly......your books appear. :) -John

      Not entirely sudden! The Fault in Our stars has a little set theory allusion in it ;)

      Is there an affordable way to aquire your books? I love to learn and Crash Course, Study Hall, StarTalk, and other free educational RUclips accounts have been a haven for me. I wonder the capabilities of free education for myself from dedicating the primary majority of conscious time to the action of learning.

      Hahahah, that would be weird from your perspective. It's kinda giving Pepsi school, from my perspective, hahah, Great video though! I'm excited to enroll in studyhall, I just have to get a recent photo taken, so I can prove I'm me, and kinda relax about the transaction going through an amazon payment portal! Good thing Complexly has such a down-to-earth and trust-worthy reputation!

    What a fantastic start to the series! I was expecting y'all to begin with numbers and arithmetic, but this is fantastic! As a philosopher who LOVES maths I can't applaud enough how thoughtfully designed Study Hall and Crash Courses are. Curious if Crash courses are now influenced by what you're learning from Study Hall: insights on what most students struggle with, and don't have free, high-quality resources for help.

    Just a casual adult viewer, trying to learn some math. I need to find practice problems to make sure I’m getting it, but this is so cool!

      Fellow adult learner here o/ I just got here, and am planning to stay, but I also really like the Khan Academy platform and specially their collections of problems and exercises. You may not even use this account anymore, but just in case (=

    I had such a hard time with sets in my senior year of high school, so this helps a ton!!
    Also why in the world is Let It Snow not on the list? It can't be because it's a collaborative publication, since Will Grayson is also in that category.

  • @sararielle

    The set of John Green books is actually more complicated because he only wrote half of Will Grayson Will Grayson (which was included) whereas he wrote one third of Let It Snow, which wasn't included.

      Love it! I think... John Green collaborated on all of Will Grayson, producing a single work with his name on it, so it is included in the set of books written by John Green. Let It Snow is a book comprised of three stories, two of which John Green did not write a single word in. Therefore it is outside of the set? If you were going to have a "books with writing by John Green in them" set, "Let It Snow" would be included, as well as "This Star Won't Go Out: The Life and Words of Esther Grace Earl" and "Twice Told: Original Stories Inspired by Original Artwork"... and a few more... They need to partner with like “Stuff Made Here” and explain concepts DURING the interesting meaningful application instead of what they are doing which is explaining the concept backed by random applicable examples.

    I just signed up for the math course. Should I watch the rest of this video playlist? Will this video here be replaced, or used, as part of the 7 week course of study?

      The whole Real World College Math video series will be part of the course! So you can get ahead and watch the videos, or wait to watch them as assigned by the course. Whatever works for you!

    at 8:23, why not { x | x = whole number }
    I have my own assumption on why it's not good to write it that way... But I want to hear the answer from the expert.
