This is a true story. He was close friends with Sam Cooke and even part of the group with him (The Valentino’s). He was his guitarist. Once Sam Cooke passed away he married his wife Barbara Cooke only 2 months after his friend passed. Sam Cooke Family was livid and did not support the idea. Sam Cooke and Barbara Cooke had an 11 year old daughter at the time of his death. Barbara Cooke was in her early 30s when she married Bobby Womack, he was only 20 at the time... He later had an affair with his step daughter Sam Cooke and Barbara Cooke’s daughter (Linda) once she was grown smh. It’s tragic and disgusting. Linda later married his brother (her step uncle) and they later formed “Womack and Womack” This all started in early 1960s... 20 years later or so he releases this song...Also, Sam Cooke and Barbara Cooke had a son Vincent in 1961 he later drowned in 1963. It is said that she and Bobby Womack were having affair and having intercourse at the time her baby son drowned. Ironically enough in 1966 she gave birth to another son named Vincent. This time she had a son with his best friend Bobby Womack... True story sad stuff smh
