I love her music and her unique performance style. I think the person she wrote this about should be very thankful she has music as an outlet 😳😊
True, yikes!
I love Chinchilla! She’s the bad*ss! Taylor Swift (just my opinion-I don’t really care for Swift) better watch out. Chinchilla is my hero and I love her voice; it’s incredible, her style and songwriting are everything. I hope her career starts to really take off. I know Ren is always a favorite with reactors so I want Chinchilla to get that love as well!
This song hits home to hard ❤️🩹🎶🥺🔥🫶🏽
Powerful song!
She has new material coming out on the 21st, like REN she has now left Sony to become an independent artist again 👏 this lady is the boss❤
Good for her. I think that’s the way to do it.
She did a real POP song 2 yrs ago called "Lockdown Getdown". Definitely worth a few minutes of your time!!
Yes, it was another side to this talented young lady
Fkn love this song. Being held down by an abusive partner then coming out stronger . Put your keys in your knuckles like I have to .
Did something happen to her like this in real life? Heavy song. She sings it with such passion.
Just what I get from the lyrics. Such an artistic vocal LIVE performance.🤯
What a song to sing to someone who has left a negative impression on you, whoah
That last line about putting her keys in your knuckles hit so hard. I have never heard a story about a woman successfully defending herself against a man. To me when Chinchilla sang that line and that’s what I thought, that she was almost mocking the fact that could be a successful defense.
“Yo, that was f’kin crazy” hahaha literally every time
Yea that’s a moment for sure. Chills.
🔥
Put your keys in your knuckles like i have to....those that know ..know ..thats how i hear and see this song . Powerful song..great reaction once again guys
Great song. I like the studio version too. Thanks!
❤
✌️✌️
Thanks so much for doing this. Her performance is amazing. She’s so theatrical but sings with real emotion. ❤️
We really enjoyed this one!
This was fantastic!!!
I am happy to you met Chinchilla > she is amazing and has got her own way of creativity
For sure. We’re having a good time exploring this artist. Making these reaction videos has led us a lot of new music in a short amount of time. Chinchilla is one of the most interesting artists we’ve stumbled upon.
Many sides to this young woman
Beautiful! such a talent.....so glad it connected with you this time Clay, Sue you've always caught her vibe.....so good! thank you enjoying seeing others discover her
Yea I liked this one. I like her whole vibe. I can see she’s coming from a different angle. I’m digging her. Hoping I find more music by chinchilla I’ll like.

Yes, I love her theatrical side, her eyes are full of expression and her vocals in this song went right through me
It is an angry woman song ! The best one !
Again love your reaction uggg she is so so talented I wish there were a bigger word than that ❤
Yea true.
Thanks for the positive feedback
Great reaction! Her look to me is also reminiscent of Tom Petty, that Alice in Wonderland feel. As for her voice, if I had to choose who this song reminds me of most, it's Tori Amos. The song itself is so beautiful that you don't realize the subject until you start analyzing the lyrics. It's an amazing performance!
Man you nailed it. Great call on Tom Petty. I remember the video for don’t come around here no more well. Also - good call on Tori Amos. I hear it. I also hear a lot of similarities to Bishop Briggs.
I see and hear Janis Joplin in her
I definitely hear Tori Amos
The lyrics are graphic but they send a strong message
This song was aimed at the record industry and their need to exert complete control over artists!
I love the strength she projects into the world 💪
I saw in an interview w Chinchilla, & she says she feels like the nails give her power, so it also, in my opinion adds another layer to the meaning behind the words if she’s cutting the others fingers clean off, I’ll watch the rest of the reaction of course and I Love your set up btw & of course subbed to watch you both react, the part about the keys gets me everytime. It’s beautifully orchestrated and delivered and her voice is so hauntingly beautiful and seasoned! Thanks for the reaction!
Those nails do look threatening. Lol. Great song. Amazing singer. Thanks for watching!
Chinchilla and Ren were both at the same record label management team, then they left and became independent artists.
That team has to be kicking themselves
Chinchilla was in an abusive/controlling relationship which she struggled to get out of, hence the line earlier 'you know I'll cave'. The fact is she feels she has to go to the extreme of cutting his fingers off so she can stop him from trapping her back again shows that she feels she hasn't got the strength to stop herself because he knows how to play her so well and lures her back in every time.
This would make sense - some people also think this about her escaping her record company. I could see that as well. That can be an abusive relationship as well. Prince changed his name and shaved the word slave into his beard stubble a long time ago for that same reason
Yall missed the last line of "put your keys in you knuckles like I do" we know most ladies walk with their keys in their knuckles when we walk alon especially at night. So I wonder if something may have happened to her to write this song. But I love it either way!
I went back, yes putting up her guard, whatever it may have you know for damn sure it’s not going to happen again
@Susan Ellis right I've been doing that my whole live as a comfort growing up in Texas I know exactly what she means
So beautiful, thank you for taking the time.
This was a good one
Heavy and FANTASTIC. Love your reaction too. Keep on keeping on, those numbers will grow
Thanks for the encouragement!
Thank you so much!
The talent of Linda Ronstadt
I agree with this.
She’s hard to match she sang effortlessly
Thanks for the reply. Glad you done it.
Great reaction folks. Great to see Chinchilla getting some love. She's due to drop a brand new track called 'Little Girl Gone' soon.
That’s great. We’ll check it out when it comes out. We’ve got plenty more of her music to explore too. She’s an interesting artist.
More!
I was in an unhealthy relationship for 25 years with my (now)ex husband. I heard this song (from my now favorite singer) and to me it’s everything I needed hear back then! She is empowering women in such a strong way with some of her songs and it feels so good!
Yea! Good for you for breaking free - Chinchilla is empowering 💪 and speaking as a stable human & the father to two daughters, I’m so happy she is. 🌎✌️❤️
@@secondhandreactions wow you guys are great in empowering your daughters!
I’m a few months away from 60 years old and the marriage was 4 years ago. At first the divorce was so difficult but I’m 4 years out of that marriage and looking back I would have loved to hear these songs back then. I found my way and stood strong so I can really enjoy Chinchilla. And I hope more women could hear these songs because though Little Girl Lost video shows violence it also has tons of hope.
But I’m not speaking for all women, these are all just my thoughts and opinions and I am in no way giving advice.
Again thanks for another great v reaction! I’m really loving your channel!
@@alloralou4722 Great to have you in our comments! Thanks for sharing your story. ❤️
Same and my ex just recently came back just like this and I feel exactly the same way she does here
This song is about what she thinks of the musi c industry..... Her own experience...
Great reaction guys!! Chinchilla vocally can hit and keep going! One breath here is soooo good. I'd hate to upset her 😄
Thanks for watching! She’s a very talented. She’s got that super powerful tone
Those wolverine claws give her power...lol. I love her voice since hearing her sing with Ren. I was a little worried for my man getting an eye poked out a few times but he trusts Chinchilla to not slice him.
@@kellyt5341 same here 😄 scars would last a long time.
I love her voice thank you guys ❤❤❤
Powerful voice
You didn’t miss the train at all, everyone is reacting to this one right now. She’s definitely unique and such a powerful voice I think that’s why most like her so much. New song drops on the 21st I believe. Great reaction TY!
Thank you!!
Thanks for the info and for watching!
it's hard for me to understand how people continue to miss the obvious. This is about abuse. This is about survival. This is about making it to the other side of that abuse. I've watched so many reactions to this and am dumbfounded as to how many don't want to acknowleledge this. Makes me sad. Chinchilla spoke to realness here. Deep, ugly, powerful realness.
It seems lots of people interpret this song differently. A good amount of people think this is about her break from the record companies and becoming independent. It’s a great song and powerful no matter people apply it.
“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” (when she vocally soars) is from The Mourning Bride. Not sad - vengeful.
I’ll have to look up the mourning bride. I don’t know what that is. Thanks for the info!
A tad frightening
Great reaction folks you got yourself a new subscriber in the shape of me 😉
Thank you!!!
🔥❤️🇬🇧👍
✌️🎩✌️
I like the powerfulness
Yea us too.
She is so fantastic. This song reminds ma a little of Tori Amos on psychedelics in Wonderland.
I take it as abused woman who left or got left .. but he is wanting to come back… she just we went independent again and released Little Girl Gone which really follows up this on well.
That’s the new track. We’re gonna do it.
I could see this
I was thinking "clockwork orange" vibes
Yes. A little bit of that ultra violence
Interesting…
She performed live for the EMA's in 2020. A song called "Cold Water" Please do the live version.
We did it. ruclips.net/video/DcFvOHiv6Fc/видео.html
No offence, but why does everyone seem to think a singer must be singing in the first person all the time ? I mean, Chinchilla may well have had some painful relationship issues to deal with ( who hasn't ? ) but artists always try to touch people with the chosen narrative, even if it is from a third party perspective. The metaphor of " cutting off the fingers so you can never pull me down / hurt no one " is a message of empowerment, more or less saying " I have changed. I am not the timid wee thing I used to be. You no longer have the power to control me " .. and " Put your keys in your knuckles like I have to " is referring to women keeping their keys tightly in their hands when walking home alone ( for example ) I LOVE this kind of message and kudos to Chinchilla for using her remarkable talent to empower women.
I think we posed the question because we don’t know anything about this artist. It was just a question out of curiosity. I don’t think everyone assumes singers must be singing about their own lives. For example I grew up listening to The Cure and am a huge fan of Tool. I know Maynard from Tool didn’t get raped in Prison (Prison Sex) Or that Robert Smith didn’t shoot an Arab on a beach.(Killing an Arab). Inspiration can come from anywhere. Like, in Maynard’s case, from over hearing something someone said or in Robert Smith’s case, a book. But singers do sing about their personal experiences, like Ren. So Chinchilla is just such a passionate performer it made us wonder. It is a great song and a great message. I like this live performance even better than the studio version.
@@secondhandreactions As I said, no offence meant, and thank you for the clarification. I actually really enjoyed your reaction video ( and others you have reacted to - you make some great comments ) It just seemed, to me, that you were implying Chinchilla ( herself ) must have been hurt ( I guess you meant the character she was portraying ..... so, perhaps it was me who was guilty of assumption lol 😂.... sincere apologies if my comment seemed like a personal attack. It wasn't meant that way ) Oh and by the way I am a big fan of The Cure too. I have been since Three Imaginary Boys in 1979 :-) ... I even recorded a rough demo cover of Boys Don't Cry, many moons ago : ruclips.net/video/NVJlfPZQ2uI/видео.html .... not a great job but a friend asked me to have a go for him. I much prefer this live version of Fingers over the studio version too. Chinchilla is superb. Have a lovely week. 🙏
@@PeteAxeShields Alright! A fellow Cure fan. I actually met Robert Smith once and had him sign my Three Imaginary Boys album. Pretty cool. Really nice guy in person. Although I did have a hard time understand what he was saying. Lol. Made the moment a bit awkward for me. I was agreeing with him, and a bit star stuck, but had almost no idea what he was talking about. Haha. We’re all good. I just wanted to add clarity to your response. Your comment is valid. I watch enough reactors out there to understand why you mentioned it. It didn’t seem like a personal attack to me. I enjoy the conversation. ✌️
@@PeteAxeShields oh and nice job with Boys don’t cry. You made it your own. I think that was one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar. I did a cover of A Forest. It’s out there somewhere. Maybe on an old SoundCloud page. I’ll see if I can find it.
@@secondhandreactions Thanks and yeah, Robert is a lovely fella. I met him, as well, way back in 1979/80 when they were still a young up and coming band. I think it was at Retford Porterhouse in England. I saw many, many great bands at that little intimate venue who went on to much bigger and better things. I still love The Cure albums, especially Seventeen Seconds and Faith. I remember the first time I heard A Forest. It had that immediate " WOW factor " I think it was the brilliant bass line by Simon Gallup which got me hooked ( intentional pun lol ) I also really love the acoustic versions they recorded for their 3 disc Greatest Hits. ruclips.net/video/RLye2L3xN-o/видео.html .... insanely good :-)
I think this is about her former record label. She's independent now after leaving her former recording contract. The people at the label screwed her over I think.
That would fit - it seems lots of people interpret this song differently
Only violent men can illicit that kind of reaction from a woman. I believe that is what inspired Ren to do, Jenny and Screech, it never ends well.
agreed..stays in your system
I don’t think it’s a metaphor lol
Lol. Maybe not.
@@secondhandreactions that’s part of the power. She’s not fucking around. She got hurt.
@@loadedorygun is this song based on an actual event?
@@secondhandreactions I couldn’t say for sure but you tell me-does it sound made up? 😬😃
@@loadedorygun not particularly, but she could be singing about someone else’s experience. I’m not sure what inspires her lyrics.
