That's such an interesting thought! Imagine the athleticism and strategic thinking Tom Brady brings to football, but applied to baseball. It's always fascinating to think about athletes excelling in different sports. The skills, discipline, and dedication required to succeed in one sport often translate well into another. Plus, the mental and physical agility needed to switch between sports is truly admirable. Wrong he messed up big time concerning the character who spoke French. Instead of putting someone from Montreal he put someone from France who spoke with a French accent. So no research was done.
I’m more confused about why he’s with the Montreal Expos. Boston Red Sox would have made more sense for the whole ‘New England but baseball’ thing. Boston is an AL East team, New England plays in the AFC East division. The team colours for both are maroon, white, and navy blue. Boston could still break the Curse of the Bambino with him in 2004, and win 6 World Series during his career, with Tom winning a seventh one after he moves to the Rays. Plus, the bit about losing to the Giants would make more sense, because A, both the NY Giants won 2 Super Bowls (2007,2011)and the SF Giants won 3 World Series in 5 years (2010,12,14) and B, he could actually beat Atlanta and be beaten by San Francisco in the World Series realistically. IRL, the Expos played alongside the Braves and Giants in the National League, so it’s impossible for them to play each other in the World Series itself.
@@tedioussugar384 Tom Brady was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB Draft. He was actually the very last draft pick in the history of the Expos. He chose college football instead.
What a nice marketing move. Thanks for the small details like the stop sign in french, wish Garry Carter was still with us, would have been the greatest pub ever!
Brady was originally drafted as a catcher. A number of NFL QBs who played baseball at a high level were all position players. John Elway was an outfielder, as was Kyler Murray. Russell Wilson was a 2nd baseman. One would think there would be more pitchers. Jameis Winston was an outfielder and pitcher, but I can’t think of any others.
Basketball, Wrestling, Hockey, and Football always overlapped too much in highschool to make it practical to play multiples. Baseball was the sport that was flexible enough with training and for the most part did not have game/match overlaps, that someone could participate in it during their offseason from another sport. Baseball was THE multi-sport option which is why you often see top level athletes in one sport also have a history with Baseball. As for the pitcher thing, the throwing movement is wildly different between the two. They might both be throwing but they are nothing alike beyond both being throwing. There is also the serious physical concern of overusing an arm even at a highschool level.
Excellent commercial, though the woman ordering poutine isn't quebecer, she speaks with an accent from France. All the rest is accurate, even the ''arrêt'' stop sign.
This is awesome, I love Topps, Bowman Draft is a bit out of my price range I'll be buying singles, maybe a cheaper box like a blaster will be released.
Kind of weird that it's implied that the Expos in this universe played both the Braves and the Giants in the World Series even though all three are in the National League. I guess it's possible that they only played against them in the playoffs, but that would be weird to bring up in a career retrospective about how he won 7 rings.
I mean, most people are reminded of the 2004 ALCS when they think of the sox run that year, so a massive comeback en route to a world series title isn't far-fetched
Apparently, the Montreal Expos would have 6 World Series championships, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, 2016, and 2018, and the Rays would have won the 2020 World Series.
