@@ThorstenHeil True. It is now fashionable to say that the best singer ever is Dimash. But honestly I don't know if these people realize that Mariah has a totally unique and angelic tone, something that will never be in the history of music again. It is simply not possible for me to sing better and more harmoniously than this. As you say: you can do the same belts, you can go higher or lower (if you can) but you will never be so pleasant to listen. And this can be heard and made a difference in every single note, even the Whistle notes, in fact it is even more evident there. In addition, she has the ability to insert every single note in the right place at the right time and as if that were not enough her lyrics are the most beautiful I have ever heard. In short, for me Mariah is unique and it is not possible to compare her to any other artist of the past, present or future. The emotionality of her voice is uncomparable. Mariah is the Queen of the music. The best vocalist ever, her vocals are unmatched ❤️ Tell me your opinion...
This song always makes me feel some type of way. My mother is a very abusive and toxic person, and when she sang "you could've had the decency to give me up before you gave me life", it really hits me hard. (I know she changed the word "before" to "the day" in this performance, but still.) I'm still dealing with all the trauma, depression and insecurities that she's been causing me, and i still haven't had the courage to be open about this. First, because i'm a guy, and people will always belittle a man's feelings. Second, it's considered inappropriate, ungrateful and unnecessary to talk bad about your own parents in my country, and that's a huge problem because i'm not the only person who's been dealing with this type of situation. Hopefully, everything will be okay in the future.
Hi There, how are you? I hope you are still okay. I would like to send you a virtual hug. I just want you to know your feelings and emotions are the most precious thing ever exists on this earth. I've been dealing with the same issue since I was born. In my case, though, the mistreat is mulplied by three: from my father, my mother and my sister. A hostile approach has always been around. I just wish I were dead or all of them three. Being the cause of neglection can be unbearable.

Oh I just got the *abortion* reference; in the official version it's "you could have had the decency to give me up, before you gave me life"... Woah this is so deep!
whitney houston's song "Miracle" is also about abortion. And theres a line in Terence Trent D'arby's "Sign your name" that alludes to abortion and the belief that their spirits remain in purgatory "i'd rather be in hell with the baby that we could have had"
This is one of her many songs that just goes through your chest and tears your heart apart to million pieces with the amount of emotion she could put into you through the song.. Her talent can really NEVER be compared..
i really agree, i am curious as to why people are not pointing out her resonance here. The resonance is so amazing it matches her tone so amazingly. Those resonance belts in "I..." letters is so amazing.
[Verse 1] Reflections of your love have come to wither I thought I'd done my best to memorize A picture fades of you and I together I haven't come to terms with how we said goodbye [Chorus] Did you really care, care at all for me? Did you really care, did you care at all for me? [Verse 2] A displaced little girl wept years in silence And whispered wishes you'd materialize She pressed on night and day to keep on living And tried so many ways to keep her soul alive [Chorus] Did you really care, care enough for me? Did you really care, did you care at all for me? [Bridge] If I'm not quite good enough Or somehow undeserving of a mother's love You could have had the decency to give me up Before you gave me life [Chorus] Don't you even care, just the slightest little bit, for me? 'Cause I really need to feel you cared Even once upon a time for me I need to believe, in my heart of heart of hearts, you care for me I need to understand why you left me there so helplessly Don't you even care, care at all for me?
