This is pretty awesome I grew up in the same house/yard. The marsh was so vibrant back then, I noticed that it started to change about 10 to 15 years ago I didn't realize what was going on. My Dad John Carr Sr would have been shocked to see the marsh he played and hid in disappear like that. Even more he would be so proud to see John Wesley Jr and DNR try to save something that was once so dear to us and something that our Eco System so desperately needs.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us! That's a wild coincidence and interesting to read how you witnessed changes years ago.

I believe we can save anything if we put our mind to it

Mr Carr sounds like he lived in Brooklyn before he moved to the low country. I live in NYC and I'm from Charleston so I have a keen ear for both accents. The saltmarsh of the areas have been making a comeback ever since the navy base closed in 96.

A lot of changes have been happening to our water. Mainly man-made. Now is the time for the whole world to come together to stop polluting our water, land, and air, before its too late to make changes.

Very important, but I hope I’m wrong when I say that capitalism wins over ethics and common sense every time. I support the eco-system and the hardworking intelligent people who are trying to educate and sustain the marshes 🕊

Cultivar or variety never strand or strain.
