Fascinating how it attempts to mimic the birds calls at 1:12. Not a very successful tactic though, birds aren’t quite as foolish as a cats typical typical rat, squirrel, mouse and rabbit prey. I’ve got a few cavity nest boxes but haven’t had any issues with cats because they aren’t as easily accessible to cats. Id recommend having a deeper nest box though so the cat is unable to reach down and grab any chicks from inside. Metal guards around the entrance hold I’ve heard can deter other predators like woodpeckers but personally I don’t use them
There is no reason to buy a cat and then leaving him free to go everywhere, too easy to act in this way. Even because they are a danger for birds, disturb neighbors and risk their lives.
excellect footage but i wouldnt say "amazing drama:" captured. say something like "super close call when neighbors cat attacked the nestbox". idk just giving my 2-cents
Bit silly to hate a predator that’s been present here for at least four thousand years because you don’t agree with them utilising their natural hunting instincts. I feed and provide nesting sites for many native bird species and don’t have any issues with cats, probably because I don’t put nest boxes in locations accessible by my cats and also because birds aren’t stupid and don’t let themselves get caught by cats unless they are sick, injured or weak
This is not "amazing". Feral cats population needs to be wiped out and domestic cats need to be kept in homes. They are totally destrying birds population.
@@falconeshield That is exactly what you cannot do, if u release cats in the nature they will wipe out a lot of birds and small animals. Domestic cats are already killing ca 10 million birds every year in Sweden! That makes them one of the worst predators we have and still they are owned by people eich give them food so they basically kill for fun 💀
Elvis has left the nestbox.
Who else was really hoping the cat wouldn't get the chicks?
Amazing footage. Thank you so much! 🐦🐦🐦
Youre welcome :)

Most birds are very stupid. Thats why “bird brain” is so well known. Cats are very successful hunters.
Wow, what a lucky escape, better move that nestbox to a safer spot
These beautiful birds spend the winter in my country. Iits amazing to see their place of origin..
Interresting. What county do you live in?

Sorry to say i dont have. Thanks for watching
What drama? Cat did not get any of chicks!
No, cat left without a single chick
@@Andykille80 May be I wrote it in a wrong way.
I mean: I do not see drama because cat got nothing. All chicks are OK.

@@theotheseaeagle House cats aren't a natural predator for the birds in most places. I don't hate cats but I do hate ignorant/lazy cat owners.

Yes youre right. Cats kill for fun
There's no need to kill wild cats it's nature. Just neture them.
