I was just 12 when I saw this film for the first time and now I'm 40. 28 years passed but the excitement and the nervousness i had during the final race still remains same . You know butterflies in the stomach kinda feeling.

The technique used by Amir.....made Depak to pull up the last gear ...in this way Depak's speed had become constant and Amir took it in a swift manner, increasing his momentum.
It's 27 years a generation since then and yet viewers getting goosebumps. It shows how much passion was poured in making every scene of this Epic. They were not after 50, 100, 200 crore back then. Karan Johar, Farah Khan, etc look up to this film, but couldn't make one like this.

love the "sanjooooooo.. top gear!!!!!!!" from mamik.. love this movie and climax and how aamir just to make his dad happy prepares hard for this race.. its awesome to see the faces of sanjoo's family light up as they see sunjoo (aamir) entering the stadium.. also notice how when kulbhushan and mamik yell out their support to aamir.. then only he overtakes and wins.. moral of the story: you can move mountains if you have your family's support..i have seen this movie more than 200 times!love it!

This is one of the gems of the Indian Film industry. Full marks to Mansoor Khan for directing such a great film and to Aamir Khan and everyone associated with this film!! Surely one of the best films ever!!

its fantastic to see, such a gem of a movie, bt i would really like to change the climax of the movie -
wen aamir comes on the podium, he should hav called his elder bro - ratan as well as his father to receive the cup - it would hav been more realistic and would had a gr8 impact on the film.........
intitially aamir was supposed to walk upto the podium and kick deepak to the second spot...but mansoor khan [who has revealed this in a jo jeeta vohi reunioin interview] said that he didn't find it necessary according to him the purpose of the final act of the film was to show sanju's coming to age and sanju has realised what it takes to be a winner...and sanju winning the race was the biggest revenge he could have got on shekhar ..so they cut out that scene which makes for a perfect ending[according to me] on teh lines whre asrani says ''aaj mai bhi man gaya jo jeeta wohi sikandar'' as that's how the movie starts too on the same lines....i wish mansoor khan can make a sequel to it .it would have been interesting to see where sanju,ratan,shekhar,devika would land up afer 15,20 yrs....may be a love story between ratan';s daughter and shekha's son:0 played by alia and sushant may be...and may be sanju training sushant for some other race..

Coming to the last part of your comment, I'm here after Sushant Singh Rajput's Demise and it's still heartbreaking of the passing away of the very talented actor.
