I have never cooked a prime rib for a holiday but whenever I can get free lamb shanks or frenched rack of lamb- I get it, marinate or rub it with spices, vac seal it and freeze it until festival time. You see, I do not celebrate Christmas, I celebrate the Hebrew (Jewish) festivals. I remember one time my sister spent over $300 on the expensive meats for a big Christmas feast and luckily , i DO know HOW to cook these expensive meats because she got called in to work and I was able to get them all done in roasters, slow cookers, cooked or prepped ahead of time FOR HER and it ended up benefitting me and my time.
One of my friends has always made baked ziti for Christmas Day and we thought she had a secret recipe for the sauce but after 35 years she told us she gets the sauce at a little Italian market in our town. 🙆🏻♀️🙆🏻♀️🙆🏻♀️
All of these meals look beautiful and so delicious. That "CRANBERRY BALSAMIC CHICKEN" is on the menu; it looks like the perfect holiday dinner. Thank you Maria! ❤🎄❤🎄
I cannot express enough how much I love this video. Holiday meals on a regular grocery budget; all of these dishes are special and a decent price point.
Marry me chicken has been my family’s new favorite dish! I discovered it a couple months ago and they won’t stop asking for it 😄 Honestly I put this one on rotation for our weekday dinners. It’s not hard once you get used to making it and I pair it with fettuccine or egg noodles, garlicky broccoli, and garlic bread! Super good❤
I haven't had the Marry me chicken yet, but a couple months back my DIL made the Tuscan chicken that is supposed to be similar and it was out of this world one of the best chicken meals I've ever had. I'm hearing Marry me chicken is similar but different enough, but better... and I'm trying to wrap my head around that. Maybe that will be the next thing my DIL makes us. 😬
@@yvonnepalmquist8676 I’ve never had Tuscan chicken! I need to try that. My boys didn’t like the sun dried tomatoes in the Marty me chicken so I used sun dried tomato pesto and we liked it even better!
Hi Maria! Loved these ideas. So nice to see Julian helping with the Shepherd's Pie. Life skills he'll use down the road. That's how I learned. There's nothing scary about it. I really relate to you using what you have. A little less, a little more, substituting ingredients, it all works! 👍 Now baking is another story. 😂
Marry me chicken is a summer garden staple around here...I dehydrate my own cherry tomaots when they are in abundance for this recipe 🧡 so simple but so good
@MealsWithMaria it's one of those it's august...and I'm up to my eyeballs in tomatos...I have made a ton of sauce...each tomato sandwiches nearly daily... and still have soooooo much... ok... slice the cherry tomatos in half and toss in the dehydrator ( or oven on low) and forget them a few hours!!! Easy peasy 👌
If you are going to sautee mushrooms and you don’t want any moisture, you can brush them with a pastry brush (pack of two at Dollar Tree) I love your videos. I can't eat a lot of tomatoes, it's wonderful to see such great looking recipes without them. These are such festive looking meals. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thanks for all these great looking meals. All these recipes look great but I already know that I will need to make some substitutions. For example, green beans for the asparagus and since I find fresh cranberries too sour I substitute dried cranberries for the sweetness. I always read a new recipe first before trying it so that I can make substitutions before ruining a perfectly good recipe with things I don''t like. There are tons of sites on the internet to get suggestions.
Your food looks soo easy to put together! And at holiday meals that is better than spending days Creating things.especially some of us are not young anymore or have Young family as yours🎉 Happy holidays❤
Some really great recipes. Alton actually did the experiment on his show. The entire time I thought for sure they would weigh a lot more but they didn't. It was a negligible amount when you consider the ease of just rinsing them.

French onion chicken is so incredibly delicious! I always forget about it, but it I'd so delicious and definitely worthy of being a holiday main.
We usually do italian and seafood dishes for Christmas day. Great ideas Maria. Merry Christmas to you and your family ❤🎉
Oh yes! That is fun! Same to you!

I’m doing a freezer challenge for December. Christmas dinner will be interesting 😂 but free ish.
So fun! I love that!
@@MealsWithMariaI probably should have planned better. it could either become a tradition or a Christmas to remember.😂
