This is my absolute favorite Gershwin tune....I first heard it as a very young girl on an old network television shpw " The Roaring Twenties" ...sung by Dorothy Provine. This is one of the most beautiful performances of this song I have heard yet...Bravo!! Brought me to tears.

My man came along and for 10 years we were together until, I had brain surgery, and a staph infection, and after memory loss and a low speed car accident and being hospitalized, he picked me up from the hospital and dropped me at the curb and told me "he didn't sign up for this", and drove away and broke my heart. I don't remember signing up for this either. Who would?
