    Hey Chris, thanks for the tips. I am always hungry for more little tips and tricks here and there. I got the suggestion from one of my woodworking friends who is a master craftsman to start using USC glazing putty. You are right. It goes on like warm butter and dries in about 5 minutes. Perfect finish and sands great. But it likes to shrink quite a but. Have you ever tried the USC glazing putty? I'm curious to how it stacks up with the Bondo brand

Air bubbles would form. i did get primer on the trim so maybe it was the primer since it was drywall primer , lowes brand. didnt seem to have the issue with painting over the pre primed from the factory. also this paint like to run easy as heck when its humid

    Hello. Could you please give me your best advice on choosing the most durable water based for my wooden framed windows? Using 80 grit sandpaper I spent hours & days hand sanding x 4 wooden sash window frames. I sanded off old layers of yellowed gloss leaving behind a thin layer of gloss which I can now see the wood grain through. I now have trust issues finding the most durable water based paints for my interior. I want to be 100% sure I am choosing the right paint system so I don't have to re-do all my efforts ? I am new to water based paints. So how would I go about this ? Do I need to prime ? uncoat ? Please tell me the most professional trustworthy durable pants recommended with the longest lasting effect ? Regards Micheal

    We have always tinted with chalk as well, but I had a master drywaller tell me one time to never ever use chalk. He says the chalk will compromise the finish of the mud, instead use tint, he says use yellow and that way it wont be hard to cover. Thought that was interesting.

    It's not possible to get a smooth finish just by sanding the Crawford spackle? Or put another way, if the finish looks smooth after sanding the Crawford, is there any reason to still use the Bondo putty? Thanks.

    • @erigala7439
      @erigala7439 3 года назад +1

      Hello! In my experience you can get a smooth finish with just spackle, but if you spray some primer on it you'll only see what needs to be "spot checked" with red glaze putty and not waste time and product on every nail hole. Everyone has different methods. Hope this helped :)

    Really great and to the point video! One recommendation would be to not wipe your putty knife back into the container. It will tend to gather dried chunks that mix in with the fresh stuff. I like to hold a bunch of spackle on a 3 inch knife and apply it with a 1 inch and scrape it back and forth between the two.

    40 years in the painting trade and I couldn't`t disagree more with your product choice. The Crawfords is a lightweight product with no strength at all, then to top that with bondo glazing putty is unusual at the least, you are engaging two totally different products and hoping they bond together, I would have just second coated the nail holes with the spackle instead of the glazing putty. The glazing putty is formulated to skim over Bondo to fill tiny imperfections. Your presentation is spot on but the product choices are questionable.
