    How would the traverse hoodie trully compare to the new ambiant jacket? I no the difference between the 2 as far as fabrics but thats not what I'm asking. I'm curiouse to no the uses and what there best used for as well as the warmth comparison between the 2. I am Looking for an early season outer jacket that can be also used as my midi under my fanatic system when the temp drops.
    Trully stuck between the traverse hoodie and the ambiant jacket...

      Hey there Ben! Great question and I'm sure a number of other folks are curious about that as well. The Ambient and Traverse are very different pieces as the Ambient is extremely lightweight it's going to be much better when active (hiking). The Traverse is definitely warmer, and a lot heavier as well. The Ambient is a much better option if you are backpacking or weight/compactness is a concern, which the Traverse is a better option when its colder.
      If you are looking for an early season outer jacket that can then be used an as insulation piece, I'd definitely recommend the Ambient Hoody or Jacket as the Traverse would be a bit too warm for early season. Also, the new Active Insulation in the Ambient is better than a typical down or synthetic puffy in that it won't lose its insulating ability like a puffy when it gets compressed (even by putting a heavier jacket over the outside of a puffy will compress it and the puffy will lose some of it's insulating ability).
      I hope that helps!

    Looking for a early to mid season pant. Any experience with the grinder pant? I like the timber camo

      Hey there Alex! I haven't tried the Grinder pants, but I think the Traverse or the Apex, or even the Mountain Pants would work great for you. Thanks for watching!

      I own the grinder pant. Very durable. Main use for me is scouting and rifle hunting. A little loud for archery hunting. But I've done some serious bush wacking with these pants and they have held up.

    I found these on sale, are these the 2019 model? Also I wear 33 in basic all jeans, should I go with the 32r or the 34r? Not sure if they’re run loose or tight on the waist. Thanks !

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  Год назад

      Hey there! Yes, these are not the newer version, so I can't say how the fit is on the new ones. On these, I went with 34 but a 34 fits me better in jeans. They worked fine, but I'd probably go with a 33R if I got them again as they did stretch a little bit with use. Thanks for watching!

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  Год назад +1

      @@RUclipsuser-yp8qk good deal...if you like a more snug fit, you could go with the 32, but if you prefer a more relaxed fit, I'd go with the 34 (assuming a 33 isn't a available). You'd probably want a belt though with the 34.

    How do these compare to the older traverse model?

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  2 года назад

      These ones are still the older model (not the ones that just came out this year). I have been testing them the last 2 years. I haven't gotten a chance to try the new model yet, but the fit is supposed to be updated and recycled material is used as well. Thanks for watching!

      Hey there Nick! Yeah, they have a little noise to them....I'd say they are very similar to the Mountain Pants and Timberline pants, but not as quiet as the Apex and Equinox. Thanks for watching!
