Hi Karen I still really enjoy empties videos as they’re the best place for reviews of a product. It was me who suggested a gel for curly hair (those tend not to be too crispy). I use a leave in conditioner, curl cream and then gel however for maximum hold don’t use too much moisture eg a spray leave in then gel will probably work better for you. I get good hold from Ouidad twist gel or really strong hold from Curlsmith fragrance free gel (available in a travel size to try it out). If I want softer hold then I use a custard (a more creamy gel). The twist weather up gel is probably a good place to start (it has more hold than the regular Boucleme gel and about the same as their strong hold option). I have heard the Ouidad in the red bottle (their higher end price range) is more hold than the twist version, but it’s expensive for experimenting. The best way to get good hold from your gel is to leave it until it’s fully dry and feels a bit crunchy, then gently squeeze the hair to break the “cast”/crunch. I hope that helps x
Really looking forward to hearing your experience and views on The Ordinary retinal cream! I bought some recently and only managed to use it about 3 or 4 times before the pump dispenser became faulty and no longer worked - had to take it back to Boots for a refund which was disappointing. In the few times I did manage to use it with the pea sized amount as suggested, I felt like it was almost impossible to distribute onto my skin due to the consistency, I had to add it to a serum or moisturiser of some kind before I could spread it around my face. I'd still like to give it another go though so I'd be very interested to hear how you have been getting on with it before I purchase it again x
I've been using a product from Cantu. Found it in boots. It's a curl cream. It's a bit weird because it feels like it should be heavy but it actually seems to boost volume and hold curl. I don't curl my hair with tongs, I defuse curl mine, and it works for me. You have to apply to damp hair and then dry it. It feels like it's going to be a nightmare, but it dries off ok. So it's great for soft natural curls. Does smell of kinda tropical though.
Maybe I use to much of that Colour wow style on Steroids but I hated the feel of it in my hair it feels gritty I got a trial size but I might try it again as I didn’t only use it the once
I haven't tried it no, its loose powder and I've got loads of them I'm trying to use up. I love that Laura M one I showed in my haul recently though. x
My Husband has a lump they said its cancer but wont spread. He needs more investigation, they are terrible. Uk you can't get them to help if they believe its not a problem. I myself had to stop those tablets my throat was terrible. Body itching to you look amazing ❤❤❤xxx
Was it humane wildlife solutions you contacted? They are good! 😊 I was gonna try the money mist but won’t bother now! I am thinking of trying the Davines All in one hair milk as a leave in conditioner to tame my frizzy bushy hair! Have you tried it? I have only heard good things about it ❤
No, its a local to my area of Scotland :0) Oh actually I quite like the money mist, I haven't shown that in a video yet I don't think - I'm not sure if it makes my hair feel dirty or not. I haven't tried or heard of the Davines one no. I will add to list, thanks :0) x
@@kerryallen4665 I think you have to hold the thing you have phobia about. I couldn't do that. I can't even go for country walks for dragonflies as I'm scared of them. It's hard.
My Mum had a neck lump, Karen..... I don't want to be a catastrophiser.... but hers turned out to be nasty - so, please get a biopsy, just to be sure. Take care x
Unfortunately we can't just decide to get a biopsy (I'm assuming you are in the UK). It has been decided that it's fine and no biopsy needed so not much I can do just now! x

Great video Karen. I've always been put off Olaplex due to the price but might have to give it a try on my 'menopause hair' 🙆
Yes, yes definitely go to Dr x

hello- i would love a q&a video if you fancied doing one! x
Will add to the list, I don't mind a Q&A at all, have done a few :0) x
The new Laura Mercier pressed blurring powder is supposed to be nice. Have you tried it?

@@TheBeautyMaverick it's pressed 😊 with a little mirror and sponge

Hi karen. You're waves look lovely. How do you do get them to look so nice? X
I just do the beach wave trick i.e. really quickly curl but straighten the end bit! Thanks so much :0) x
You’re calm about the mice. I would move out my phobias so bad.
I thought I had bed bugs last year, I nearly had a breakdown and lost a stone in weight in 3 weeks. I have a phobia with insects.
@@pam164 it’s awful. I wonder if a hypnotherapist would help us. Phobias’ are nearly impossible for a person to just get over on their own.

My Mum and sister both had these and they had to be drained.
@@TheBeautyMaverick Well, that sounds promising then..... and relevant that your mum and sister had one similar. Great! x
