@@Rs500ybd Polishing intakes is a thing of the past, actually. What you really want is a kind of rough surface in the intake channels, which gives you the golf ball effect :)
I'm not gonna lie Sreten, I nearly shed a tear when you first ran this new engine, the fact that it started so smoothly and purred is a big testament to your skill! Best of luck on the test drive, greetings from Birmingham UK!
I didn’t realize I was holding my breath waiting for the engine to fire up the first time. You’re right. It sounds different, better. Can’t wait for the next episode.
No repetitive content on your videos, just great entertainment, info and details. I really admire you and the great passion that you have in restoring these beautiful BMWs. Majestic cars that deserve the love for your job. I really hope that the B7 will give you the satisfaction that you deserve.

Always great to hear the "coming up" as you know a great video has started. Think you could make a business out of the V8 sprinkler if all else fails. Many thanks, entertaining and enjoyable as ever, good luck for the test drive, can't wait to see the next vid.
I love the fact that you are caring for the proper personal safety measures (mask, ear muffs f.e.). True professionalism right here. It is too easy to get sloppy with those things. Did not see that here yet. Respect!
I know a lot watching this 2nd rebuild have faced the final minute when you HAVE to push the start button. I have sat for 2 hours as my stomach churned and my hands trembled. It was a race engine with parts that had to be made with a wait time of months. 10 years later that engine is still running and competing in club sport meetings. I hope this time you have the same success. Great video. Congratulations from Australia.
In the last few months in my spare time I’ve watched every video you’ve made. Project cologne was an extremely interesting build series to watch but project Chicago has been chaos. Much like the city. Super excited to watch this episode. Keep it up!
Even being “repetitive content” as you mentioned, enjoyed every bit of it. Can’t wait for the following part!!! Hard work paid off…minus the financial loss and time with the first build. You win some, you lose some…Life goes on…Keep up the good work!!
Sreten, after all your issues and heartache the smile on your face says it all. I wish you all the success and 200k of carefree miles in project Chicago. 🤩
That second engine build will be just fine! You simply got "blind sided" on that first go-around. I enjoyed this video so much, I watched it twice. Congratulations
I'm not gonna lie, the startup and the idle sounds way different and smoother compared to the previous time. Well done Sreten!! Keep up the amazing content
M539 restorations is my absolute favorite youtube channel. Everytime a new video is posted it makes my day. Keep up the good work Streten, love everything you do! 🙌🏼
Much respect for sticking with it! Nobody would blame you at all for killing it with fire and nuking it into space, but damn I'm glad it's sounds great so far!
Sreten, well done! I do hope you had a schnapps or two that night to celebrate! That engine would have to be one of the most complicated series production automobile engines ever. V8, quad overhead camshafts, fuel injected, VVT and supercharged. To rebuild that with your meticulous attention to detail not only once but twice would be beyond most automobile mechanics. The fact that it fired up so readily and runs quieter than the resleeved engine I most sincerely believe augurs well. Engines have souls and the more carefully you put them together and the more caring you are looking after them, the better they reward you with exemplary performance.
This engine sounds 1000 times better than the original Alpina engine! It started so smooth and fast is definitely a good sign! I hope you opened a cold beer after that haha :D
I absolutely love this channel. I love the attention to detail that you show each car. When the project car is finished I feel like I am stepping back in time as to when the car first rolled out of the showroom. Eating salmon now. Perfect night. Great work!
Your video is like a one hour meditation. I just changed the injectors on my 530i. Nonetheless it was a bit scary to press the starter button. It was very satisfying that the motor not only started but now runs better than ever and also consumes less fuel. So I kind of understand your tension upon starting the Alpina motor.
Your channel is responsible for rekindling my love with BMWs. I just purchased an F80 M3 & your passion and attention to detail is a constant reminder to keep it as pristine as possible. A big thank you, all the way from New Zealand!
Man, I can't imagine your joy on this victory! After the frustration with the previous engine(s) all the work and money you've spent for nothing, this smells like something you deserve a lot! I just wish you the best luck and I'll be looking forward next video. Fingers crossed!
You really gotta be passionate to take apart and rebuilt the engine not once but twice, not only doing it stricly by the code, but also figuring some viable solutions for it to last longer along the way, that's some dedication I rarely find on RUclips channels, and that's why your channel is one of my favorite! Great job, hope this one is the one and you'll be able to mark those 200km without FBI knocking on your door sounds coming from under the hood!
Purring like a kitten . . . watching one man shove an entire engine/tranny assembly back into a car and then bolt it back on . . . twice-amazing.
