About to take delivery of one of the first 410GP's in the US -- I miss my 211 and can't wait to get into this! Your video's convinced me that the decision I made months ago was the right one!
Jeffrey Carr 410GP is a step above than the regular one too and looks even better than the photos. Stunning and very special car inside and out. Wait till you see the wheels! Congrats, a fine choice. I've ordered a 410 myself!
...bought a 350 solar yellow 6 Months ago and i don t regret it ...great feeling on the road .... I was told that the 410 is Much better..... Love from france
In my opinion, go for the Evora 410 if you can afford. It is more comfortable for daily, it has the bling bling effect and it can be used on track. Get the carbon seats. Am saving money for this!
Its a nice choice to have but it would be the Evora 410 for me. It's one special car, much more than a special edition and future proof with the charge cooler. Also its more of a change from your V6 cup than the Sport 380.
Help me out here. I'm in the US and sold my 2013 Evora IPS. Here we have the Evora 400 and Lotus is taking orders for the 410. Besides weight and cosmetics, is the 410 a better buy and what color was that? Thanks!
Charlie Brown The colour was Starlight black but Motorsport black is even nicer - more jet black with a gold fleck in bright sunlight. The US 410 edition is this colour with gold pinstripes, looks amazing, everyone here wants one now! 410 is more special and more focused, firmer, more alert but 400 is better value if you want more luxury. If you never intend to go on track 400 is a good choice but if you are planning track days go for the 410. It's worth the extra for me but I do quite a few trackdays. Just wait until you see it though, logic and reason will disappear when you see the carbon kick tail up close!
The fact that you are deciding between an Evora Sport 410 and an Exige Cup 380 is one great decision to make. I hope that whatever decision you make, you will enjoy your next Lotus as much as you can, including on a racetrack. Good luck with your decision, DrPittenstein.
I love all your content. I've watched all your racetrack videos of your current Exige V6 Cup and they were all awesome. It is Lotus at it's absolute best when track focus is the key priority. I've also decided to buy a Lotus for track days in the future, although I don't really know which one because there are so many brilliant options; Exige V6 Cup, Sport 350, Sport 380, Evora Sport 410, Elise CR, Cup 250 and so on.
Thanks. You're very welcome. I hope this channel will help you decide, even if I'm having difficulty myself! Was at Brands Hatch today. My V6 Cup was so good, I keep forgetting how good until I take it on track again. Incredible car. Get a Cup if you can find one for track days. We had 6 Cup cars there today, everyone drove home very happy!
6 of them. WOW! You're the loyal Lotus customer. So I'll take your recommendations into serious consideration. I will strongly consider the Exige V6 Cup in the near future.
Depends on you, your choice is gonna be great either way. I would prefer the Evora 410, but only in case the seats and weight saving aren't too big of a compromise to the GT abilities of the 400. The cup 380 is gonna hold value the most.
Sport 410 gets the balance right for me but probably too extreme for those who like speed and luxury. It definitely has more speed than luxury! Compared to an Exige it's quieter (less tyre and wind noise, the engine is LOUD!), smoother, less manic. Definitely the better choice for long road trips across Europe. Compared to most other sports cars it's alive, alert, hungry to turn. A Jaguar driver won't think it's a GT at all! Very pure sports car though, I reckon he'd love it!
Very good point. Whatever you choose, it will still be a true Lotus. We are talking about Exige 400/410 but there will also be Evora targa. Sorry for confusing you even more :)
i don't like the gauges - like on the exige cup 380. The old ones looked so much cleaner, and i liked the non-marked limiter with the lights and stuff (don't know if the evora had this too)
Agreed. But current Exige clocks are nothing to write home about either. I think it's time Lotus fitted the 311's TFT screen and laptimer to the Cup cars.
It isnt 35k better, but a 35k increase is what you would pay going from a Porsche 911 Turbo to a Turbo s. This trend can be seen in a lot of sports car manufacturers. Even with the price increase the Evora gt430 is still cheaper than a 911 turbo. Cheaper than a 911 Turbo, the question is is the porsche still better even at its higher price tag?
Porsche is a lot less desirable to me personally but it's a very different sort of car. The Evora GT430 is closer to the GT3. The increase from Turbo to Turbo S is smaller in percentage terms. Evora GT430 is a much more exotic and exciting car to look at, for me anyway. I'd much rather have the Evora, the Porsche Turbo is like being in a 747, fast sure but you don't feel the speed. Much more feel and communication going on at all speeds in the Lotus but then again that's their thing. Each to their own of course some people like easy speed, stick pdk in 'D' and blast past everything without trying. I'd rather go slower and have more interaction with the car.
Sport 410. Pity they would not do it in the color you wanted. Why is that? Would not Lotus Exclusive do almost anything a customer suggests including any color?
I was asking for a non-Lotus 3 layer 'flip' colour which makes it very expensive to paint and they won't be doing that again after one car had to be painted 3 times to get it to work. Takes up too much time in the paint shop. McLaren do some 6 layer colours but they are super expensive. One McLaren paint costs something like £20k! Lotus have done 3 layer paints before such as Renault Liquid Yellow (gorgeous on an Exige!) but the current order from the boss is - no more. Real shame, my Evora 410 would have looked amazing!
I think they lost money on the now famous Renault Flame Red Sport 350. Jean Marc Gales is very strict with costs now. He has malaysian forensic accountants watching him like a hawk after the Dany Bahar fiasco!
I fully understand that it´s expensive, but that would not mean they could not offer it provided the customer pays the full costs + a premium resulting in a profit for Lotus. Let´s say it would indeed end up at £20k. Why not at least offer that as a possibility instead of just saying it´s not possible? Do you see what I mean?
Yes totally see what you mean. I wonder how much flame red cost them? I agree it would have been better to say £10k than 'no'. This has happened before and someone will get a tri coat car done again but not right now. I think the problem is the time it takes in the paint shop. This costs not only more money but also the time it takes to paint 5 cars or whatever. Right now they are busy, I'm glad about that. If they had more time I reckon they'd give it a go.
Yes especially the wider rear tyres, power is the same so why wider rear tyres? It doesn't need them so suggests that more power might be on the way.... pure speculation of course but that's all part of the fun!
Seb's isn't a one-off, Lotus have done at least two other Exige V6's in 'Copper Fire' and some in 'Autumn Bronze' which is very similar. The difference is, it's a Lotus colour, I was asking for a non-Lotus tri-coat 'flip' colour which makes it very expensive to paint and they won't be doing that again after one car had to be painted 3 times to get it to work. Takes up too much time in the paint shop. McLaren do some 6-coat colours but they are super expensive. One McLaren paint costs something like £20k!
Had a great day at Brands Hatch today in the Exige, made me think about sticking with Team Exige. Such a great car on track. Noise limit today was 101db, my V6 Cup breezed through. Sport 380 makes something like 107db....
Evora sport 410 FTW.Also,Titanium exhaust.😃 If Lotus made an Exige 410 Cup,I would choose over this cause Exige and Evora shared the same engine but Lotus made the exige less HP😡.Come on lotus.
MegaRockstar48 also too expensive for normal people but not as engaging to drive. Evora is much more desirable for me but we’re all different. Might be worth trying one though before you join the herd?

Brilliant spec on this one. Not yet here in the states, unfortunately, and from what I can gather, only 100 or so will be allocated.

I am sure it would look amazing in Motorsport Green also... :)
This car is growing on me a lot too.

Difficult choice, the Evora is growing on me,
Me too. Always liked the Evora 400 but not quite enough to want to buy one. The 410 is a different story!
evora gt430 looks even better

I would prefer 410 over Sport 380 but over 380 Cup? I am not sure.
Also, with the Cup 380, they made a lot of weight saving. That may be a sign of the upcoming Exige 400/410.
Yes especially the wider rear tyres, power is the same so why wider rear tyres? It doesn't need them so suggests that more power might be on the way.... pure speculation of course but that's all part of the fun!
My problem exactly!
What are your thoughts now that the GT430 is soon to be released?
Tevi Lawson Drove it yesterday Trevi. Watch this space!
Didn't Seb D get a one off colour in his 380?
Lotus Exclusive. I think it was a custom color he chose.
Seb's isn't a one-off, Lotus have done at least two other Exige V6's in 'Copper Fire' and some in 'Autumn Bronze' which is very similar. Why not get your color in a wrap and have them wrap it for you?
Mike Vincent can they wrap 3 layer flip colours? I didn't think it was possible.
I am not an expert on this, but I've only heard of some people going to DubCustoms in the UK and having it done.
Just drove this car around Castle Combe. Track test video coming soon!
I'll say go for the 380cup
Definitely the Exige 380 Cup.

Yes same here, an Exige 410 would make the decision much easier!
They are just too expensive for normal people. Think I’ll end up with a more affordable Porsche Cayman for my next car.
MegaRockstar48 also too expensive for normal people but not as engaging to drive. Evora is much more desirable for me but we’re all different. Might be worth trying one though before you join the herd?
