Finally, someone who understands why there's only 1 minifigure and no side build. Because it all went into this stunning, articulatation heaven lego mech!!
Hey Jang! It’s me, the designer of this set. Thanks so much for the glowing review and the comparisons. I’m very glad you like it and the fact it only comes with one figure. It really allowed us to present this set at an appropriate price point while keeping the articulation and detail levels high.
You did an excellent job at this set! I really wanna know, do you have a history with Gunpla? That double elbow joint and sliding armor separation gimmick at the knee remind me heavily of some higher grade kits - Real Grade, Master Grade, etc. Also that super tiny V-Fin on the head too!
I'd love to see a Classic Space mashup with Exo-Force - odd as that may sound - Classic Space mech theme. A while back a Lego Ideas set did do just that - and introduced us to the green space minifig. But I'd love to see that go even farther. But I guess that's why we have MOCs. :)
It’s startling how much Lego has improved over time - this Cole mech design is stellar! If this set is successful, perhaps we’ll get many more single build masterpieces. No side build or extra figures? So what - having one single stellar build (at a solid and competitive price) should be an option far more often. The designers at Lego are second-to-none; this is a milestone moment for the hobby :-)
I am not a fan of mechs myself, but even I can appreciate that this is a masterpiece of a build for the price point. Pretty much the only downside I can think of is that Lego have set the bar so high it is going to have customers demanding this kind of exceptional design in all their products.
Got this swt earlier this week for 70 bucks and i couldnt be any happier. The designs is awesome, the articulation is crazy good for this kinda products. I STRONGLY recommend this set
My first and only Ninjago set was the first one Cole came in. I always wanted one of their mechs and now this beast arrives. It’s like my destiny to own this lmao
That was my first Ninjago set too!! With the little archery range? Such a nice low cost set. Around the same time I also got the the Black Ninja minifigure from the original cmfs, so I'd always imagine him and Cole as brothers when playing.
I am so happy In the direction your channel has taken, it's really refreshing to see a majority Lego Channel comparing values to other toys on the market, especially that perfect grade astray. Also is that the pg chars zaku?
Normally I just watch your reviews because I like your content, I know if I’ll buy a set beforehand or not, but I think this review has genuinely convinced me to purchase this set. Great review, as always!
When I got Zane's Titan Mech, I thought it was the peak of mech design. But this, this set is miles ahead of it. I'm tempted to try and build a mech with all these articulation techniques now! Thanks for the review!
Ninjago mechs still don't scratch the Exo-Force itch, and that's partially because of the usual lack of canopies - those exposed pilots as you mention here. If they had a small transparent windshield protecting Cole, this would be perfect. Then again, I say "would be perfect" if this wasn't absolutely what Lego mech fans have always wanted - high stability, great articulation, exceptional posing potential, an amazing silhouette, and all at a very strong price value. As much as having only one minifig in a set this large feels weird, as you say it allows the budgeting to be optimized and all killer with no filler. Heck, from a collector/display perspective, the lack of side build or loose figures makes it even cleaner to put on a shelf, and since it's from an original IP there's no minifig subject pressure and vastly reduced minifig FOMO and resale aspects; this set is firmly for kids, teens, and adults that want an epic mech and the exclusive variant of Cole is a bonus.
Actively losing my mind at the articulation: This is absolutely incredible for a LEGO set. I'm spoiled by Gunpla, so this is just... holy crap im so excited ^_^
Not usually a Ninjago fan but this is exactly what I want to see more of from Lego. It’s both a toy and collectible display model that appeals to kids, adults, and outsider hobbyists without explicitly being marketed as one or the other.
Thanks so much for showing it in different poses! I can’t believe that for how big & detailed it is, you can still play with it!! Big win for both young and old.
I bought this set because of your recommendation, and I just finished building it. It’s absolutely beautiful, and I really hope it sells well so Lego sees that there’s a market for things like this
I think maybe my favorite mech set Lego has ever done. It just looks incredible, and the articulation is groundbreaking for an official thing of this size
Its a great mech and awesome build. One thing I changed with the wing backpack was to put those top blades facing downwards, so that he is a bit more shelf friendly and they look a bit more like wings.
this blew my expectations out of the water. it reminds me of the witch doctor from HF with some of the movement, but so much more refined and much much more brick built. excellent set and decently priced to me :D
I'm impressed of how you made possible to cover everything about the mech in such little time. I think the mech is really well done, and I hope to see more Lego sets with this ground-breaking setup. The Review made me rethink some of my initial toughts on it. Nice shirt too
Or Jang. Or you could buy two Ashoka Tano’s Duel on Peridea sets for just $10 more. Who needs a fully articulated giant mech when you can buy two Lego STAR WARS slabs for $110?
This is so awesome! Good to see how great ideas from Bionicle on one side and moc builder´s ideas on the other had their influence on this genuine lego product! As a mech and dragon fan I am totally excited. Thanks for the detailed presentation.
I know/care nothing about Ninjago, but I love making robots with Lego. Usually I MOC, but this looked so technically interesting I pre-ordered back in June. Finally built it today, with modifications to get rid of the overly-large shoulder pads, fill in the "cockpit" and give it a bigger non-tiny head, lengthen the torso to better proportions, and to have my own version of the "wings" so they can fold down flat like a cape. It was a really fun build, aesthetically and technically pleasing, with lots of potential for modifications. Really enjoyed it, and glad you did, too!
Really hoping Lego will do more of these, especially with that level of articulation and laser focus on making the build itself as awesome as possible with minimal minifigs. If I hadn't spent all my money on Nya's X Mech, Ultra Combo Mech and a couple other sets, I'd definitely buy this one!
Ok, so firstly I wanted to say that your pose for this mech at the start is awesomeeee lol i have this set and this is the best mech ever made in my opinion so yeah good job for this video im subscribing!!!
Absolute masterpiece of a set. Love the look and it's as articulated as any high grade Gundam kit. That's pretty dang insane for a Lego mech. Apart from the pilot not being covered this set is flawless, IMO. Also, awesome pose on that PG Astray!
Definitely my most hyped set of the summer. This thing is breathtaking in person, and the very concept of it comparing to similarly scaled Gunpla models but for half the price is insane. Best set I’ve built in a long while
I've built this mech a few days ago, and the more I deal with it, the more I like it! Yes, LEGO, go this way - give us from time to time the product of that level (I think they would if sells quite well).
Awesome! With the Hulkbuster introducing the X-Wing canopy in pearl-gold and the single wing blade in this mech - we will be able to build a Bene Gesserit Royal Ornithopter. :D
I've taken a break from collecting LEGO sets, choosing to focus on my Gunpla collection and other hobbies recently. I love the robust and practical look of a well designed mech and LEGO hasn't delivered since the Exo-Force line up. Products that end up looking either too goofy or overpriced for the quality and design, aimed more at the younger audience obviously. To see this set on a review and available on the market made my jaw drop. I've already sourced one and I'm looking forwards to it! 😎 Great video and hats off to the designer!
“ killshot” would be the movie - a farm girl who was killed by the evil Mech leader uses her dad‘s old hunting rifle to kill that bad guy. “ I only need one bullet to kill the man who killed my family.”
Why this is the best NInjago Titan Mech: 1: The Articulation: The Elbows bend far and those articulations knees are tight! _IMPRESSIVE innovation in LEGO mechs._ 2: General body design: It really does scream a Gundam look, especially the nice head. Honestly the lower legs and arms are the best part to me. Overall: S+ set!
This is by far the BEST mech Lego has ever made. Most of the time I end up buying cheaper sets for the figures, the only reason I would get anything above $50 is if I like the entire set. Zane's titan mech completely sold me because it seemed so cool, and the articulation on this mech is even better than Zane's!
I just recently finished a Gundam build attempting to figure out how to translate Gundam articulation into Lego. Seeing you review this so highly and demonstrating the articulation speaks volumes. Thank you Jang. I will be acquiring this set sometime soon as this appears to be on the level I’m looking for.
Wow, that articulation is amazing! I had been thoroughly impressed by the knee articulation in Zane’s Titan Mech Battle (71738), which uses multiple ball-and-socket joints to provide plenty of friction and range of motion... but this one is a whole new level. Fine, once again, Lego, take my money.
this recent ninjago wave may be the best of the entire line, with the largest dragon of the theme, a gorgeous temple, and a mech that blows about every other ninjago mech (and lego mech in general) out of the water in terms of poseability & scale. just peak set design across the board
I usually wait for sets to on sale at this price range before picking it up. But I will make an exception with this set. I want more of it so once I’m voting with my wallet.
It is really crazy to me seeing how Lego managed to get articulation in this kit that is comparable to gunpla level. The double jointed elbows alone was impressive, but seeing the shifting armor I never expected them to do. Even ignoring any price difference, just the fact that you can get a Lego mech that can do this is really cool.
Amazing review and amazing model and set! In the end when i see how good is are and how you trully glad with this set i even got goosebumps)) Must have this set for myself! Thank you!
Ninjago always has the coolest looking minifigures. Im not a big ninja person, but I have bought quite a few Ninjago sets bc they minifigures are so detailed and amazing
I'd love if they did this kind of build on the years they don't make a Ninjago City modular set. Something massive, with no side builds, just a minifig. I'm not a Ninjago fan [though I did enjoy the movie and have some of the excellent sets from it], but for me, this is a must-have, just like most of the Ninjago City modular builds. Seeing the size of this - I knew it was big, but it still seems even larger and to me, TLG could have charged $150 for this. I'm glad they didn't, and I hope they keep a "every 2 years, $100 giant mech" in their line up. Thanks for the excellent review and the comparison to a model about the same size. Love seeing Lego compared to non-Lego things. Also love the T-shirt. :)
Thanks Jang! Got this ultimate mech for 2. One serves as display piece while the other one is for my personal modification. Really love thie design. Hopefully Kai Titan Mech will got the same treatment from Lego if not surpassed it.
I only recently started getting back into Lego with the A game cabin and jazz club but this, this is really cool. I may have to put this on my buy list.
As quite a big exo-force fan this makes me so so happy, looks fantastic imo maybe a return with exo-force as its own theme wont happen anytime soon but atleast ninjago and monkey kid making very good mechs in their themes is a good compromise.
The Astray is a great comparison, this seems to take a lot of design cues from that mech! This is a remarkable set for LEGO to release, I only (dearly) wish this kind of energy would be shifted away from Ninjago. A set like this, maybe minus the head and with a different cockpit, would be the perfect flagship for a spiritual successor to Exo-Force! It’s just a shame that all the cool ideas for new LEGO themes are instead being relegated Ninjago subthemes.
Oh wow, that is fantastic! I have one of those rare "Realtype Gundam Cloth Heavy Weapon Command Gundam" toys with all the accessories and double-jointed knees and elbows, and this is almost as good! I'm probably going to buy only one Ninjago set this year, and this is it.
This very well might be my first Ninjago set! I love the _idea_ of Gunpla but I always felt guilty that if I got bored of displaying them then I wouldn't have an outlet to get rid of them. With this sort of mech I can always use it as a parts pack!
I really like that it's just the mech. A lot of small side builds just kind of get set aside in my collection. Too bad this is so good, as now I will consider buying it.
Finally, someone who understands why there's only 1 minifigure and no side build. Because it all went into this stunning, articulatation heaven lego mech!!
I wish they would do that more often honestly. Like Elemental Dragon vs Empress Mech should have been two separate stand alone builds.
Just incredible!!!
Hey Jang! It’s me, the designer of this set. Thanks so much for the glowing review and the comparisons. I’m very glad you like it and the fact it only comes with one figure. It really allowed us to present this set at an appropriate price point while keeping the articulation and detail levels high.

This set is amazing i have it and the articulation is amazing but the ankle joints are limited but overall amazing
Bro you cooked with this set, great job!
crazy good work man, hope more lego sets follow the precedent you set
@@Quote_ationHe does! There's quite a large fanbase of Gunpla at then LEGO HQ in Billund
A rare case where a LEGO product is competently priced compared to similar, non-LEGO products.
Once again, Lego makes me wish they'd go all in on a mech theme like Exo-Force.
I'd love to see a Classic Space mashup with Exo-Force - odd as that may sound - Classic Space mech theme. A while back a Lego Ideas set did do just that - and introduced us to the green space minifig. But I'd love to see that go even farther. But I guess that's why we have MOCs. :)
Lego Gundam
BATTLETECH
One way to look at it is that Ninjago is an evolved Exo-Force :)
This set is a masterpiece
It’s startling how much Lego has improved over time - this Cole mech design is stellar!
If this set is successful, perhaps we’ll get many more single build masterpieces.
No side build or extra figures? So what - having one single stellar build (at a solid and competitive price) should be an option far more often.
The designers at Lego are second-to-none; this is a milestone moment for the hobby :-)
My inner Gunpla builder side is so happy, amazing detail and articulation, it’s almost like a budget Gunpla but with all the bells and whistles
I am not a fan of mechs myself, but even I can appreciate that this is a masterpiece of a build for the price point. Pretty much the only downside I can think of is that Lego have set the bar so high it is going to have customers demanding this kind of exceptional design in all their products.
The designer so clearly builds Gunpla in his free time and pulled the tech from those for this.

Finally, Cole getting something amazing.
I’m blown away by this. I’ve never been a Ninjago fan, but this is as good as a lego mech can be
The review completely changed my perspective on this set, i thought it was overpriced when i saw on the lego catalog but now i can see it's a steal
I am so happy In the direction your channel has taken, it's really refreshing to see a majority Lego Channel comparing values to other toys on the market, especially that perfect grade astray. Also is that the pg chars zaku?
TY! That's the OG 1980 NG 1/60th, cement & all!
100% agree with your conclusions. No extra stuff needed here, great build! I hope lego ends up doing their own mecha series outside of ninjago
Ninjago mechs still don't scratch the Exo-Force itch, and that's partially because of the usual lack of canopies - those exposed pilots as you mention here. If they had a small transparent windshield protecting Cole, this would be perfect.
Then again, I say "would be perfect" if this wasn't absolutely what Lego mech fans have always wanted - high stability, great articulation, exceptional posing potential, an amazing silhouette, and all at a very strong price value. the best part about lego: would prob not even be that hard to just add a canopy yourself, which is a great option if everything else works fine
they've done it...by god Lego has done it! A way to build Gundam and Mecha inspired build with a suitable, simple frame!

I love that Exo-Force is now in every theme.
To achieve that knee articulation is impressive.
Oh good! Great to see that new long LEGO Technic 5240 rotor blade piece finding applications in more sets! That drives the cost of the part down! :)
Never thought we'd see a thigh swivel in a Lego mech this scale.
Its a great mech and awesome build. One thing I changed with the wing backpack was to put those top blades facing downwards, so that he is a bit more shelf friendly and they look a bit more like wings.
What a beauty. This is the level of articulation I had to pretend LEGO mechs had when I was a kid.
Love the poses you put it in. Just shows how much fun you had with it in hand
this blew my expectations out of the water. it reminds me of the witch doctor from HF with some of the movement, but so much more refined and much much more brick built. excellent set and decently priced to me :D
This is an incredible, so impressive that lego managed to make something with only figure and no side builds.

i haven't bought ninjago in more than 10 years and this changed everything for me this looks AWESOME
Or Jang. Or you could buy two Ashoka Tano’s Duel on Peridea sets for just $10 more. Who needs a fully articulated giant mech when you can buy two Lego STAR WARS slabs for $110?
Toss in that sweet Ninjago battle pack that’s $10 and then you’re not even in the same ball park. Haha
If you could somehow only own ONE Lego set, this would be a great pick.
This is so awesome! Good to see how great ideas from Bionicle on one side and moc builder´s ideas on the other had their influence on this genuine lego product! As a mech and dragon fan I am totally excited. Thanks for the detailed presentation.

I built this over the weekend and this is an all time favorite of mine now. I want to see Lego continue the trend
Absolute masterpiece of a set. Love the look and it's as articulated as any high grade Gundam kit. That's pretty dang insane for a Lego mech. Apart from the pilot not being covered this set is flawless, IMO.

Great review and awesome T-shirt Jang!

It’s awesome to see a vehicle that fits 1 minifig only come with 1 minifig
Aye jang pumpin the vids out. Love to see it.
“ killshot” would be the movie - a farm girl who was killed by the evil Mech leader uses her dad‘s old hunting rifle to kill that bad guy. “ I only need one bullet to kill the man who killed my family.”

look at you having fun with the poses. awesome.
Nice review Jang! This is the best official LEGO mech for now.
This is incredibly impressive for Lego. I’m gonna have to pick this up at some point.
This is the greatest lego mech of all time. Period.
It's good to see your genuine excitement!!
Whoa it kinda reminds me of the Musha Gundam.
Ninjago's longevity as a theme and as a show is incredible
What a great sendoff for my favorite ninja, Rip Kirby Morrow. Thanks you for teaching me along with your fellow ninja the true meaning of spinjitsu.
I got this set a few days ago. Easily one of the best mechs ever, arguably the best.
I’m sure the highest praise a Lego designer looks for is from you, Jang.
I’m imagining them watching this in the “longing Wolverine” meme pose
I'd love if they did this kind of build on the years they don't make a Ninjago City modular set. Something massive, with no side builds, just a minifig. I'm not a Ninjago fan [though I did enjoy the movie and have some of the excellent sets from it], but for me, this is a must-have, just like most of the Ninjago City modular builds. Thanks for the excellent review and the comparison to a model about the same size. Love seeing Lego compared to non-Lego things. Also love the T-shirt. :)
This has to be the ultimate Lego Mech
Absolutely awesome 👌
Thanks Jang! Got this ultimate mech for 2. One serves as display piece while the other one is for my personal modification. Really love thie design. Hopefully Kai Titan Mech will got the same treatment from Lego if not surpassed it.
I think this is the best mech that lego ever made there is no other lego theme that has a better mech than this mech
This one is most likely going to become my new favorite set of all time once I'll eventually get it!
I got this one and am so in love with it. More mechs like this Lego!
This lego designer had a point to make. And they made an absolute mic-drop out of it.
That's definitely the level of RG/MG/PG Gundam articulation!
Just the pilot cockpit should have been a little more... Protective.
I've been waiting on your review of this set. My hype has doubled since watching. Love your content!
I usually don’t care for the Lego mechs, but I just watched pacific rim and this is like the coolest thing ever to me right now.
This set is for sure one of the greats, love your work as always Jang 🙏
Yessss sir! Fantastic Lego mech, definitely going to buy it.
Fantastic review Jang! I’ll be picking this one up at some point thanks to you!
Great video jang! Wasn’t going to buy this originally but now I’m definitely considering it
Love this mech, the best 💥
Looks EPIC mech great detail awesome review jang 👍
I really appreciate the comparisons to other adjacent items.
This feels like it's 4508 Titan XP done right. Those legs and shoulders look very similar. I can't ask anything more of a titan-class mech!
I'm not into Ninjago, but might get this one just for the building and engineering, and then later use the parts for something else
