As somebody with a slight hearing problem, no I am not deaf b.t.w., I am so happy that you write a lot on the screen, and there is no annoying *background music* in the video. Just the facts, not trying to be 'hip'. I really like it.
Thank you so much... this video provides an overview of my 200 pages readings on coding... and it is much more accessible to me. Thanks for saving Phd students like me
Thanks, and good luck!
Thank you! This was easy to follow and help conceptualize the process. Nicely done!
Neat 0:13 Memo writing. Today I coded:Was it suprising? What's their story? Improving the procedure? Other notes 1:18 Coding is slow process
Self Notes - You tend to do this at each part. You start noticing patterns, you keep going back and forth and back and forth. First cycle coding can be done for the first 5 to 20 interviews. It is possible that other codes may emerge, but you can do a sample first, and then choose to collapse or expand codes. You do want to keep your eyes open.
Cycle 1 and 2 you go in and out, but Cycle 3 is when you are writing up.
Great explanation of the many cycles of coding. Thank you for the helpful summary of the process!
Thanks, and good luck!
Thank you.. Succinct explanation. Just what I have been looking for.
Self notes - Coding is a cyclical process.
Since youre writing summatives, a memo reminds you about the fact that ‘why did i write what i wrote today’? What did i see? What was the issue?
Coding is slow. Its thinking about it, stepping back, and then coming back again.
