I saw the show. Major Attaway is absolutely exquisite. Genie was and is my favorite character from the flim. He upheld and expanded the role to become all his own. His performance would have delighted the late Robin Williams. If the cartoon reboots, I hope he can voice Genie. I wish I could thank him for bringing me solace from my depression. Hope everyone all over world can see his performance as well as the show.

Hannah-Sofia what do you expect? They have limited time to worry about precision and they're under a lot of stress to make it actually work on stage so it doesn't have to be perfect
Hannah-Sofia stage makeup if WAY different from what we see as "everyday" makeup. It has to be dark and strong as hell so everyone in the audience can see it. No one is actually going to be up in the actor's face with a bright light in the middle of a Broadway show to see the details of their stage makeup

If she doesn't it'll look bad. It's like applying makeup and not blending it into your neck. If his back faces the audience at all it's gonna be concerning that one part of his head is a different color than the rest.
I don't think she understands how normal it is. You don't die laughing whenever you see someone apply eyeshadow or lipstick unless they're doing something outlandish, which this is not.
Truman Kelley it is outlandish lol. How often do you see people just walking around with glitter and foundation on the back off their bald head? I’m not saying it isn’t necessary in this circumstance, I’m just saying it was surprising.
It's not actually outlandish to see bald people wear makeup, where it's necessary to put foundation on the back of the head, especially on Broadway. You might not be into show makeup or makeup in general as some other people. It is surprising for a lot of people who don't know a whole bunch about makeup to see something like this (which is pretty normal especially regarding stage makeup) so I explained why it's actually normal. It was obvious that you didn't understand it, but he isn't just "walking around" with the makeup on, he's about to do a Broadway show where people in the back row of the balcony need to be able to see his him clearly. I was just telling you why it's necessary, don't shoot the messenger.

yo i saw aladdin on broadway like two or three weeks ago and his performance was amazing!! highlight of the show for me. and his head was so sparkly i was sitting all the way in the back and i was like “WHERE DO THEY GET THAT SHIMMER I NEED IT”

I LOVE Major as the Genie he is hilarious
people were sad to see James leave to hammilton, but major attaway is just as good.
I went to see this in New York with a school group and I enjoyed this immensely. We even got a couple of the actors to sign our programs. And surprisingly, Major is a rather laid-back person compared to his normal personality; it really shows what a great actor he is that he can keep up an almost opposite persona for multiple Broadway shows.
i just saw it in the theatre yesterday HE IS AMAZING also fave scene is cave of wonders when he appears i recommend it🤭💛

Well, Disney will sometimes test shows at the theaters in either Disneyworld or Disneyland with smaller and different versions. The Aladdin from the stage show that was there before Frozen had a blue Genie and tbh he was creepy. The blue doesn't translate well on stage. Green for some reason makes the women playing Elphaba stunning.
