Thank you, Stu! Yes, it’s a lot in the space I have to work with. And this plan allows me to run my trains differently than I can on my scenic layout. So you can see how I need BOTH, right?? Haha my family won’t give me any more space to build so this’ll be the second and final layout. And thanks for the support, it really makes me feel good and makes it worth the effort to video the progress.
Am I glad I found this series! Awesome. I enjoy your enthusiasm and explanations of why and what you are doing. You fit in good stuff in each vid and ya do t try to make them all over 20 minutes LOL. I'm going in same direction of using all Kato connectors and 3 ways. So far my DCC signal is great! Subscribed and watching all vids. Still not finished and up to date
Cool. thanks for sharing. The dual reverse loops and duall sets of crossovers seem redundant, but if you like them and don't mind spending the extra money, go for it.
James, I don’t know how I missed this when it came out, but hey I found it now. I love your layout. Even in JR. High my favorite part of a layout was the wiring. I built a N Scale multi train layout in about the same space using 2 levels, about 20 years ago. So when I say this, know that I speak from experience. When you are running three or four trains at the same time, be sure to be sitting down. It could get a little dizzying, but it will be fun. Just kidding😂
Thank you, Jack! And you’re right, running multiple trains at the same time can be harrowing! I’m just taking things slow and learning to manage multiple locos. You’ll like the new episode I’m launching soon, where I go over my whole feeder strategy and how all my wiring uses the Kato accessories so there’s no soldering or “custom” wiring needed. My goal here is to create a layout that anyone can duplicate, just by buying the right materials and using them per the directions. Thanks for checking in!
Hey James thanks for the track layout video….BTW would you mind letting me know where to get the wall led light in the opening ….. it looks pretty cool…..thx Peter
I see the less is more philosophy isn’t in use here. The overall construction looks great but 4 mainlines takin up a ton of space and only one yard as an industry. This is good for watching trains, and if that’s your goal awesome, but if you want your trains to have a purpose and scenery, I would revisit the track plan before making things permanent.
This is where Gods go to play Trains! Amazing!
I know, right?? Thank you!!
TERRIFIC, James! Thank you so much for your generosity as you share the details of this great project! John
Thank you John!!
Super! I really like this layout better. There is a LOT in a small package for sure. Your explanations are top notch. Thanks
