Is it at all possible to purchase a printed copy of this book?, im quite desperate to introduce other family members to the written delights of MD Vickers however e format and audio are not viable options, printed copies anywhere???
Most Def. , the intro & the Narrarator. Horror Babble is so much better than the competition. Creepy Pasta could be so much better. That Narrarator drives me nuts.
Already a big admirer of of all Ian's work on the channel. Absolutely overjoyed. as a Bolton lass to find these tales. I walked through the 'Bonk' to & from school, up Shady Lane. You can 'crawl' the pub's named in 'The Beast', drink-a-long the story. (Bl1 area of Bolton...if your inclined.) I now have a house at Hall i'th Wood. The 16th century Hall is home to a pair of ghostly legs, amongst other strangeness. It has sat where the Rivers Croal and Irwell meet since the 15 hundreds. People lived along the river banks in pre-history. The Victorian cotton bosses invested heavily. How marvelous to find such genuinely original stories & engaging characters. Set in and inspired by the area's long history and many odd anecdotes.
After catching up on all that I've missed, I'm impressed. The intro and cassette tape are a nice touch. Narrating and voice acting are 💯. I'm overjoyed that your channel is growing Ian.
I absolutely love this man(?)'s style of writing. You wouldn't even think him(?) a contemporary, if it weren't for digital clocks and brand names. Alcohol has prominent appearances, so do some very comedic one-liners. However, I must impotently protest his abrupt endings. Each story's conclusion leaves me with a pit in my stomach, like I was just dropped off a cliff.
@@markvickers2607 _I think therefore I man._ Truer words must have never been spoken. Jokes aside, I'm glad it reached you. Thank you so much for writing these stories, and good ol' Ian for bringing them to us. You truly make bedtime something to look forward to. 👻
Your voice is the best in the business Ian, I can't even get passed the first story because I listen to these to fall asleep and that voice is way too soothing.
M D Vickers I love his style of story writing and when couple with your style of delivery Mr Gordon it makes for a fantastic listening experience I thank you wholeheartedly
SO MANY good stories here! The Painting is Great. The Wardrobe is Weird. (I love the image of our hero running 3 miles to the train station after emptying most of a bottle of Pernod, in a liquorice stupor. Wonderful!) Thank you so much for posting!!!
Thank you for the time stamps! I listen to you frequently and don’t usually do compilations because I’ve listened to that narrators stories as they came out, but don’t want to miss anything presented.
Lovely as ghost stories can be! 😄😊 Superbly read too! I am now suspicious of every old carved wardrobe and every old man period portrait painting…can‘t be too careful……you know 🥺
Brilliant. Horrorbabble is my favourite listen as I go about my day now. The sound of the tape takes me back a bit. That portrait though! I'd love to have that in my living room.
Love these stories.I am a big fan of all audio horror and supernatural stories, and,as much as i like M.R.James,Poe,and Charles Dickens,it is nice to have stories with a more contemporary feel.Hugely enjoyed these, thanks for the upload.
HorrorBabble Yes, please do ;) Make him understand we simply must have more stories about horrifically strange and sinister objects like The Wardrobe, and soon!
@@markvickers2607 So you're the great "M. D." Vickers? Thanks for taking the time to update us here! Love those strange, inexplicable object stories.. especially that horrifically bizarre 'wardrobe' and its crazy ending 😁
Alright my bed keeps breaking I've put 24 new screws in replaced the dowels twice and now have a car jack under the central beam...Am I being possessed by a Vickers-esque furnituregeist? I also stubbed my toe moving my recliner chair but it is too comfy to exorcise.
the Beast was basically we got drunk. We got take away. We took a short cut home. Something got us. The End. Cool story, Bro. BTW does anyone else think that Mr Beast really is Satan?
The Wardrobe lacks that bit of poetic justice it should have at the end. As it is, it's about a jerk who kills a friend for no reason, and gets away with it.
The weak mental state of many of the protagonists, along with an utter lack of common sense, lends to the, got what they deserved line of thinking. 58:00 how bout this, get rid of it.

It is cool
You fool! Warren is dead.
That music soothes my soul whenever I hear it

These collections have been my salvation these past few days.
Love all the stories, Mr. Vickers is definitely a talented author. And it goes without saying the HB narrators only elevate the these terrific tales!

Omg 4 hours of Horrorbabble! What a treat. 😍
Liked these. Someone want to attempt to interpret for me The Painting's ending?

The Wardrobe is so wonderfully weird and one of my favorite 'macabre object' stories!
Hahaha yessssss!
Wow, that`s some really good writing. Reading is as always - marvelous! Thank you!

Brilliant 💜💯🌹
Thank you for introducing me to this genre and these authors! So good.
Do you guys know if M. D. Vickers plans to write more short stories? I love them.
Indeed, Laura. He's working on some new ideas as we speak. We'll tell him to get a move on...!

I must say, I enjoyed the painting and the wardrobe a lot...
The wardrobe is one of my favs. Love it!
3:10:10 "strange incident" is maybe an undersell but who am i to say
Brilliant stories, brilliantly read! Thank you.
As always the quality is on point.
X.x this was just fantastic 👏👌🙌😀
😅 that damn picture outstanding
Haunted wardrobes and pool tables.. please tell me there are some schlocky 80s horror movie adaptions of these stories, that would be amazing :D
Mark penned most of them in the 90s, so perhaps we should be aiming for some 'schlocky 20s adaptations' in due course...!
A mediocre alcohol phased shot on the pool table. Lol!!!
I love this channel.

The Butler: the butt of all jokes. 😁
I just stopped in for a pint, and to catch up with Alf Ramsbottom.
Thank you for an unknown to me treat.
The Wardrobe - fabulously creepy with deft touches of humour.💕

HAHAHA BRILLIANT ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT GENTLEMEN..😊
Liked the second Bayeux Tapestry.
Oo oo oo..I am loving these stories..on the first one while working out and something s up with the professor😑 nefarious
I love to listen to audiobooks, but I can never manage to stay awake through them
"seems to have extracted himself from the mental mire he fell into" depression swamp scariest part of the story???
Nice
These stories are scary because it's just random supernatural occurrences happening to regular, unsuspecting people.
This is incredible
i thought I would listen to sleep. Now I can't fucking stay awake...👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'm just wondering how many shots a blunderbuss holds......
The Punch and Judy story is really disturbing!!

Punch and Judy was horror ble!
When you string these stories altogether you truly realize how horrible they are.
Is that good or bad...🤣
@Bert 238 yes I did. Glad you enjoyed them 😁👍
SORRY AND THANK YOU JEN 👍
Thanks again, Bob!

William Newport
I love horrorbabble! And I love how this story is compiled. But the characters in the story are frickin stupid!
Sunday ☀️
That rotting old man Seth!
Great stories! Having trouble finding a biography of the author, any ideas?
Hi Keith. There's a very short biography at the beginning of my collection on Kindle 😁👍
...”Trouble with a capital T that rhymes with P that stands for Pool”...
Lol
M.D. Vickers sure is ahead of his time when it comes to explicit gore... 😬
Hearing Ian say “dickhead”. 😆
Damn it all to Hell! I was so late in my comment that Warren actually WAS dead.
Feeling pretty foolish right now....
You FOOL! Lol
