Sissel is the GOAT as a cross-over mezzosoprano. She can sing ANY genre from pop to opera in a multitude of languages. You've just heard her gospel so you now have jazz, pop, classical, etc. to go... Listen to her, Pie Jesu. Perfect!
@@dickhornmedicineman2766 I'll definitely have to check out more of her performances. I've recently watched her Pie Jesu performance, absolutely phenomenal! I wish I wouldn't have messed up the name when saying the title though. That performance is definitely one of my favorites, although I still have many more Sissel performances to discover. 😄🔥💯
Thanks for a nice reaction to my favourite artist. Sitting on first row during her concert hearing her voice directly is impressing. No autotune! A middle-aged Sissel here (44), doing one of her favorite things, singing a gospel-style faith song, and doing it well. If this is your 1st time with her, there are lots of goodies awaiting you. She is a trove of good singing. No cavorting about the stage, no added gimmicks or effects. All goes into the song and the singing of it. Enjoy.
Yeah I'm definitely looking forward to seeing some of Sissel's other performances throughout her career. I love how real this performance was, all talent! 😄👍

This performance was on a Norwegian talk show called Lindmo, on the Norwegian Broadcasting Channel (NRK) on November 9th 2013. (We write day/month/year in Norwegian).
Although Sissel sings mostly crossover that doesn't mean she can't hit and hold these high notes that people like Emer Barry and others reach. Yeah Sissel is one helluva singer with that clarity and vibrato as well as her tremendous range. Yeah she can hit the low stuff as well and THAT'S one of the things that makes her so awesome (besides singing in 15 languages as well!). I don't know how she does it but that's probably I've been listening to her for over 30 years.. here she is on the low side do you recognize this work? yeah I bet you do...

You can hear her voice all over the titanic movie. Celine dion sang my heart will go on at the end titles. Sissel sang the rest of the soundtrack

Thanks for reviewing Sissel. Please do more of her. She is fantastic. She covers many genres. Check out her videos from her 20s through her 50’s. Her “Reflections” project from 2019. It jam packed with great old songs. She released one song per week for 50 weeks as a gift to her husband. Their latest project is a triology. The first one was “I Rest My Eyes’ the 2nd is “Journey” and in June they release the 3rd song in the triology. Check out “Wait Awhile” and “Slow Down” with the Tabernacal Choir. Her “Northern Lights Concert” is awesome. Check them all out. They will be a treat to your senses. Thanks again.

Nice reaction Kayse! Yes she is amazing. If you think this choir and orchestra was large you need check out her performances with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, 10-fold more people and sounding fantastic. But there are much more to choose from (BIG understatement) - 19 albums, 38 singles. Her Christmas album from 2009 sold to 11 times platina in Norway. If you list what she has done in music on Wikipedia you get quite a long list, as in 25 pages on my laptop. She sings mainly in norwegian and english but have also sung in 15 other languages including maori and japanese.

I know you're probably just trolling, which I really don't understand in 2023 but you do you. As a fan of Sissel, one might think that you would want to share her wonderful performances with others, but if you're actually being serious with your comment it appears that you don't want to share her with others. That's pretty selfish of you, especially since she's a great artist and others deserve to watch her perform as well. I was asked to check her out and I'm glad that I did, regardless of your "comment." You really should be more welcoming to new people into the Sissel fandom. It's all good though, everyone has their off days, if you ever want to talk about Sissel, feel free to comment whenever, I'd love to learn more about her as an artist 😄👍
