I like your videos, but honestly it irks me when you (and other name channels) don’t research the names beforehand, especially if you’re unsure of the pronunciation. Kaizen is a Japanese philosophy basically meaning “change for the better or continuous improvement.” Since it’s Japanese, it’s pronounced “KYE-zen”.

I do research the vast majority of the names I share with the exception of reaction-type videos (name data, random names, etc.). I am sorry you are bothered when I do not have all of the "correct" information. There are several reasons this might occur:
      1. Many names have numerous purported origins, meanings, and pronunciations.
      2. Even if there is one accepted pronunciation in its origin language, the pronunciation might change when spoken in a different area or language (whether you think that is appropriate or not). An example would be Isla- one of its origins is Spanish (pronunciation= ees-la), but it is pronounced differently in English (pronunciation= eye-la). That is why I provide different pronunciations at times. It is impossible to know exactly how many parents giving a certain name are intending to use one pronunciation or another.
      3. There are countless invented and alternative spellings showing up. While some people might be using Kaizen with its traditional Japanese pronunciation and meaning, it is not unreasonable to think that other parents are using it as an alternative spelling for Kasen/Cason/etc.
      4. This is not my full-time job. It is a hobby for which I do not get paid. I do not have the time to dedicate to find completely definitive information on every name, if that were even possible. As such, I will be maintaining it as a stress-free space to engage with my interest without having to know everything.
      Thank you for watching.

@@babynamehelp I understand your points and honestly it wasn’t my intention to stress you out. I do however feel strongly that it’s important to research every single name with multiple sources whenever possible if your channel is called “Baby Name Help.” Many people will take what you say as the truth because of this platform. Yes, a name could be made up or pronounced differently by the parents or based on the origin/language so I understand that point and think it’s a good idea to present potential pronunciation alternatives *in addition to* giving the traditional pronunciation. The specific name I was discussing though was Kaizen which is a set philosophy in Japan combining the words “Kai + zen.” You seemed unsure of the origin and thus the pronunciation, which could have been helped by 1 minute of research. This also came up in a recent video where you hadn’t researched another name (Takoa) and quickly looked up an incorrect meaning/origin as Hawaiian when that’s impossible because there is no letter T in the Hawaiian alphabet (some sources can be faulty especially if they are “user submitted”). I’m really not trying to be mean, I’m bringing these up because as a fellow name enthusiast who runs a naming instagram (and working on a RUclips channel), names are very precious things and something that I and many others take seriously. If you want to just do this as a hobby, but don’t feel the need to do research, maybe just give a disclaimer so people are aware. You can either consider what I said or you can be offended (hopefully not), do what you wish and have a nice week.

I understand all of that and am always appreciative when you and others share your experience with or knowledge about names kindly in the comments. I think the name sharing and sharing of name knowledge in the comments is the best thing about this community!
My point is that this sharing can be done without complaining about or bringing others down. It would be very easy to say "The name Kaizen is Japanese and is pronounced Kye+zen" without saying "it irks me when you...".
I believe that we all need to give others (hobbyists or more serious) more grace to make mistakes or not know absolutely everything all of the time. I do not wish to discuss any further as I feel we have both made our opinions clear. If you choose to watch and comment on future videos, I am looking forward to learning from your knowledge. Good luck with the instagram and RUclips!

She didn’t pronounce the name wrong though. I know a little boy named Kaizen pronounced Kay-zen. A lot of names have different pronunciations due to where the person is from and which language they speak, etc. I have heard people pronounce my name in like 5 different ways depending on where they were from. It’s ok.
