I just recently bought a few air plants and read that they should be submerged in water for hours. I didn't feel comfortable with so I was misting regularly. Will do as you do from now on. Thanks.

I’ve seen that too..! But hours seems like a long time.. I usually submerge them for 15 minutes and it has worked really well 💚 let me know how it works for you 😊

Accidentally left mine in the water over night. It’s doing well still so far. 😬

Yes you can do that but you definitely can't soak an airplant for 2 whole days.

I have a question: how often do you water them? Loved your video btw really helpful!

Hi! I water mine every 1.5-2 weeks. But it all depends on how dry is the air at home. I’d start with that and observe yours to see how she reacts :-)

Oh no! I’m curious about this.. how long did you leave them in the water? How often did you water them with this method? And did you leave them upside down after watering to dry out?
I’m curious to see why it didn’t work for you 💚

@@PlantsandLucia I’ve always heard to keep them in water for 15-30 mins, I did that turn them upside down over nite. I didn’t this every 2-3 weeks. They also have to be in very sunny spot. I was at the place I bought them a couple weeks ago and asked how to grow them , she also said she never had luck with them. Talking to a friend of mine last night and we were talking about the very thing. At first hers were dying off too, but what she does now and has never had a problem with them and they’re growing. Put a rock in one of your plants, not one that hanging because the air plant needs a lot of light, but put the air plant on the rock or whatever you choose so the plant doesn’t touch the soil. But the air plant gets enough moisture off the plant. Once in a while she may mist, but never in the center. I don’t think you can get all the water out of the center no matter what you do.
I’ve just been misting mine now and so far so good. I don’t mist anywhere near the center.
