Buoy maneuver with boat hook

How do you catch a buoy with a boat hook? It is important not to approach the buoy too quickly, preferably against the wind. Coordinated communication between all those involved is also crucial: the skipper, the buoy catcher with the boat hook and the person who attaches the line to the buoy. In some cases, it is best to approach the buoy with the stern, e.g. if the boat has a high freeboard.
