When you get married it’s usually a moment filled with hopes and dreams and plans for the future..life doesn’t care about your plans, and can throw some pretty wicked curve balls..( much like their cake)...these are the things that can break a marriage, despite all the best intentions of those concerned..I find it to be a good omen that in the midst of the cake chaos the figurines depicting the husband and wife were still standing together serenely on top of it all. May they stay like that forever..
For The first one, the one at 1:50 and the one at 2:44, I'm just trying to see how those are fails...the first is just epic and the cheeseburger is amazing and that deer is fantastic!!❤

The color combination is indeed a bit strange for a wedding but not too outlandish. Anyone with a sense of humor will have a lought about it at the wedding.
@@grumbeard looking at it from a cake decorators perspective, it is pretty bad. Especially the lack of proper blending of the colors, the white on top isn't blended properly into the sides whatsoever, and the way they swirled the frosting on top looks sloppy as well. If they were to use those colors, they should of at the very least tried to blend them more evenly and add more white to the sides and transition it better on the top, and skip the swirl.

My experience in a birthday party where the host ordered a two tiers birthday cake, the cake arrived 6 hours late and looked like it results from a road accident. It turned out that the baker works at home and took more orders than she could handle, also she has never done a multi-tier cake before and simply took promise from a photo that the host sent her. LESSON HERE: Don't go cheap on important events, or you'll be laughing stock for life.

My mom loved being in charge, and in control, she insisted my wedding be at her house and my husband and I were so poor we didn't have any choice, my mom said her wedding gift would be the wedding cake, now she made cakes for all 5 kids for all our growing up, and never made a mess, but on my wedding she made the cake with the frosting as hard as rock candy. My mom loved embarrassing me my whole life, she acted like she didn't know what to do, lucky a lady guest, came and fixed it. Then my mom started making fun of how the photos were taken, not even on my wedding day could she not make fun of me. That was many years ago and I still remember the pain in my heart. I have forgiven her but I don't go around my family they don't respect my feelings.
A few years ago a British last make a cake that made international news. A little girl requested a snake cake for her birthday....and the baker had a phobia of snakes😅. But the baker kept her word, did research, and did a really realistic albino coiled up ball python cake! Not only did doing that cake cure the bakers phobia of snakes....her business went thru the roof with requests. The family LOVED IT. That was a very happy birthday girl indeed 😄 🐍

I wondered whether some of the bakers would have Trading Standards down on their heads as regards advertising vs reality. But the last picture illuminated it for me -- people are taking pictures of other cakes to a baker and then getting squidge back. I'm so glad we went with plain white M&S cakes for my wedding in the UK. No harm in getting professionally made cakes, then sourcing flowers and toppers elsewhere. We had toy birds in a cute pink and blue nesting box -- hubby (RIP) was a keen amateur birdwatcher -- to buck the awful trend over here for bird cages on cakes. I mean, what bride wants to look at her cake and see the 'trapped' symbolism of a gilded cage?!
Whoever put these photos together doesn't know what fails & disaster means, i mean, c'mon now, that deer cake or the grey bed one, or even the toilet roll, why were they in here?
Some of these arent really that bad and shouldve instead gone under the title "Most Creative Wedding Cakes". The poor groom's mom that tried to make one i mean you can't really fault her and it's better than paying money for a crappy cake when you know it's done out of love. But I'm glad now my wedding cake was smaller and simple (2 tier Teal and white ombre icing buttercream with an adorable wedding topper that honestly was the main thing but it tasted awesome). We had a bit of a flower fail that didnt match what we wanted/ordered but the day is about a bride and groom celebrating their love not cakes, flowers, and outfits
Oh wow, so many bad decisions here! With a lot of these, the “original” cakes are simply above most bakers’ skill sets. They should be telling potential customers ‘NO, I CAN’T DO THIS’ when approached, but I think I lot of bakers either really need the money, are too embarrassed to admit they can’t do it, or think they’ll be able to just “wing it” once they start. Nope.
It's also a matter of the customer, sooooo many want these cgi instagram cakes but don't want to/don't have the money to pay for something so complex and 'artsy' then pressure the poor baker to do it of which most are done almost overnight to stop it spoiling, so they're not set properly (hence the slipping) and are just a guaranteed disaster.
The problem is most of the cakes are delivered directly to the wedding. So you would start crying in front of the whole guests and the delivery person (I would cry too)
As long as the people getting married were happy with the cake I don't count it as a fail. Many of these I wouldn't get for my own wedding, but well, it's not my wedding. So if they are happy it's all good.
These may look like fail wedding cakes..but I am imagining about the efforts one should have taken to bake and decorate with icings in these cakes.. amazing...👏

I'd love the chicken and mashed potatoes cake - might not be traditional, but i bet it was a lot of fun for the guests. Also, a lot of them are just not made the same as the expected photo - like using frosting instead of fondant, etc. , but i bet they tasted fine.
