- This is the boy that introduced me to the world of budget ball jointed styled dolls. I've been a resin collector for over a decade, and it was a pleasant surprise to know there were budget friendly options out there for those who can't or don't want to spend hundred of dollars on dolls and just want to enjoy the hobby.

Love seeing these dolls painted. For many of us these are the only dolls we can afford.
Totally understandable! And also our situations change. I could afford expensive resin dolls in the past but with adulting and bills now, I am happy these are an option too
I feel you Cleo. I have a resinsoul 44cm that I spent 145$ (a lot of money for me to spend at the time)on many many years ago, and have not been able to buy another doll since. I think these are a great option because of price, and if I had a 300$ or more doll, I'd be so afraid to ruin their faceup or customize them. I hope more dolls like this are offered soon.

Thanks, I just bought him actually as a blank to make a Snape. I'm hoping to build up his nose and jaw line with some apoxiesculpt. And close his mouth. I love how you shaded his features. I hope to do as good a job!

That would be the acronym I guess? Haha yes I wouldn't call them that way either but ehh it's easier for people to search for them that way lol

I have this boy! I got him in february of 202O with pre rooted, long white hair and a face up for 17.00 US. The factory paint is pretty ugly tbh so I've been planning on repainting him. Watching you transform yours was amazing! Now I'm re energized to work on him. I do agree, his body proportions are uhm...odd. I hope if they continue to make male dolls in this size they think about resculpting the body. I had seen one at this size with more masculine hands but he's no longer available. Thanks for sharing your art, he looks so handsome!

I also saw this doll with rooted hair and face up the first time on Etsy, and then found him on Aliexpress like this, which is perfect for customization! I hope they make the bodies more masculine or at least thicker, because regular SD size clothes look terrible on him haha

I would prefer more voice over and way less annoyingly loud music with vocals. I enjoyed seeing a boy head of these done.

"unlike his resin counterpart" so... I'm confused. Are these aliexpress cheap dollies knock offs or are they actual original sculpts that are printed in both regular doll resin or also available as a vinyl version?
I don't know if it's an original sculpt or not, but the head is rubbery kinda like Obitsu or Monster High dolls, and the bodies are ABS plastic. So not resin at all
