Thats one way to get an in depth look at the new unit.
The factory needs to take a look at this video. The oil pan had baffling in it. That motor should not have been that easy to kill. Just my opinion. You guys have done cyclones in every other stock sxs.
Didn’t they blow up the xx doing cyclones?
Agreed!
@@kylekoehler8308 To be fair you can blow one of those turds up sneezing too close to it.
Lets be honest. Its a polaris
@@ntoxic8edx amen
Nick and Leo walking backwards in the time lapse bout had me dead hahaha
Omg I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one that noticed that! Had to watched it a couple times. Way to funny!!
Really disappointed Polaris doesn't have some sort of low oil pressure safety built into the tune. Not even sure if the Turbo S and Pro XP models have a oil pressure sensor as well. Seems pretty important in high performance engines.
Totally sucks to break it so soon, but you know you'll get some great content out of it... one of the first Pro R's in the USA to get engine mods.
If you consider putting a turbo on one of these a engine mod there's somebody else out there has already put a turbo on one
@@djmorgan8783 that’s why he said one of the first
Ya , u guys build it for Race Conditions . It May be need'n more compression now that its apart .
I'm really glad you all took the engine apart instead of taking in for warranty work awesome video
Leo and Sous at 10:30 had me dying! Just two goobers being goobs! Tough break on the R but she will be back better than ever!
Man this was one the best videos in a while! I don’t mean that in a bad way, loved the detail on the engine work
Totally agree, I don't want to see the machines get damaged but it makes to great content.
Looks like a perfect candidate for a built K20 swap with potentially a big turbo lol 😆 😄 🤣
That’s what I said on the first video when they showed it lol
Hell yeah brother
K24 big turbo
Could the cvt even hold up to that power
Call boisted boyz to work their magic on it
Should cut the oil filter to see all the metal in it
It seems like since the motor is super far to the rear, on a 4 seater, it experiences increased g forces. Maybe add an extra quart and send it again🤙🏻. You know for science
The best solution would be a dry sump system or install a Accusump.
@@dooformuladlx sounds like some good content. I think we all know the answer is not no more cyclones.
You're onto something here
Borrow some Yamaha oiling ideas dry sump.
In their ad Polaris specifically mentions their oiling system is designed to handle the extreme angles that come with rock crawling. I guess cyclones draw oil away from the pickup.
@@sam_s_ when your in ice and spin in place puts a lot of gforce to drivers and machine as u seen
With that engine hanging out that far back it was probably seeing way more than just one g. I'm sure it was designed to handle just about anything a normal sane human being would put it through but I doubt the engineers ever anticipated anyone doing cyclones like that.
@@sam_s_ they did cyclones on there other machines in a “RIPPING A SECRET POND” few vids back
@Sam S. basically a 4wd donut where the vehicle spins on its center like a cyclone rather than a donut where you're spinning on your front inside tire like a typical 2wd
@@vettonator literally everyone I know has done cyclones on their machines 😂 get on the ice in a northern state and everyone has been there. It’s way too much fun
K-swap time! Tons of aftermarket support, easy turbo options. Collaboration w PFI and/or BOOSTEDBOIZ….power potential out the roof
My thoughts exactly. They are proven to take tons of abuse
Hell yes!!
Neat idea but that’s been done so many times. I think building the stock motor would a pretty cool idea and stick turbski on her
What is a k-swap?
@@chadstellwagen3460 it’s a Honda motor K20A of K20A2. Look up BOOSTEDBOIZ on RUclips nearly all his builds are Kswapped. Just a really good 2 liter engine with huge power potential
Wow guys tough break, but I’m amazed on the engine and how thorough you guys are, a bunch of respect.
yes, it has a dual mass coupler between the crank and clutch to dampen the torsionals from that 4 cylinder.
The Naked Gun clip had me rolling!
Great video, glad to see you guys tearing this engine down rather than having someone else do it....Keep doing what you do!!
i like matt being the camera man hes good he stays on point and dont over talk the person hes filming love all of you but thats my input
Doug's comment about buying it specifically for cyclones was hilarious
On a positive note you guys are the first to have a tear down video on a pro r. Congrats!
Love seeing Matt behind the camera!
Best RUclips channel out there!
SXSBlog y'all rock! Love the channel and content! I'm here for the algorithm! Peace
Look forward to seeing what you all do with it.
I just siezed yxz 1000r engine last weekend these last few few videos hit close to home! Keep up the great content guys!
I really enjoyed Matt behind the camera.
Love that you guys choose to tear it down for the fans instead of having warranty handle it. I learned so much about this machine in 27min.
Just joined, learning lots from you guys your great team together lots of talent. Keep it going. Thanks
Wow that is AWSOME you guys got it taken apart !!!! you might as well be the 1st to break it lol 😂 pretty dam cool to see the engine , looking forward to see what made it seized up and to be in the best hands 🙌 to ..
That’s a tough break :(
Can’t wait to see what’s the outcome of this PRO R :))
Great content guys
Gotta be some oiling upgrade opportunities to be had in that engine.
Yea, k swap that turd. I'm really not a lmport guy, but a little honda engine sounds like a cool swap, especially if they can get someone to machine a adapter. They could be pioneering a swap kit to turn a turd into a diamond.
Thanks for the upload nick Leonard you made my night
Damn.... That was amazing. Thanks for blowing it up!
Doug you are the best!!! Greetings from Costa Rica!!! I used to ride RZR here…Super nice countryside for sxs,,
Seeing the date on that motor really put it in perspective
Watched this video like 10 times already, great content 👏
Great tear apart video, can't wait for the put back together video.
You’re a legend Doug 👍 “we’re ok boys, things aren’t great” onwards and upwards!
Hell yea brothers. Lovin the good content.
POLARIS in one world! TOP content!
Only one sxs channel is willing to go this bonkers. Love y'all 🤘🏻
Doug strikes me as that guy that everybody can't help but like. always very positive and super likeable. love listening to him talk about the builds.
No oil pressure sensor is nuts!
That's crazy to me. I can think of much cheaper units that have oil pressure sensors.
I would give $5.00 for any dumpster fire from polaris,
I've been burned by polaris.
Hell my friends house would have burnt down had he not walked out into the garage to his second fridge to see his ranger dumpster fire.
My yamaha banshee still runs reliably.
If i was buying a sxs , i don't want any with centrifugal clutch. So first choice yamaha yxz, second choice a honda talon
@@errickkitchin36 Like my Honda push mower that's over 20 years old.
@Brian Madill It blows me away. A optioned out Pro R is over $50k, but yet my $30k family sedan has one. It actually came in handy when the lube tech at the dealer didn't tighten up my oil plug, I lost all my oil (had a old clunker next to me in traffic and thought the smell was them), and I got a warning for "oil pressure critically low"
@@errickkitchin36 the sad part on most of the "dummy light" guages is by the time it pops you've already done a good bit of damage. Atleast normally.
I lost faith in other people, to many incompetent a$$hats out there.
Go SxSBlog 🏁🏁🏁🏁❤️
Y'all are a rare breed, love y'all 👍👍
That’s pretty similar to how my ranger diesel is with the bell housing and adapter to the primary clutch. It has a yanmar in it which is tractor/automotive style engine. Always cool to see how they engineer these. Awesome video, it’s a shame such a new machine has a totaled motor but if anyone would do it… it would be y’all lol
Bearing spin directly proportional to cyclone speed! Skooked!
Loved it guys,...Now Lets see the Turbski...
"Too bad, we got this specifically for cyclones." 😂😂😂😂😂
Couldn’t be better timing. Just sat down to rip one before bed 👌🏼 SXSBLOGFTW
It’s Sunday night, family is asleep, I’m watching this tear down video……quietly laughing, and wearing my heck yah dude shirt.
Hopefully you guys get it back running soon.
This build is going to be insane
It’ll be back bigger and stronger!
See ya on the big end because your done!
Brand new sxs u guys r insane but I like it !!!!💪
Dang that was a good one!!
UPLOAD ON SUNDAY!!!
Just another reason I love you guys!
Duuuude, me and my buddy still play NHL 96 on SEGA once a week. So fun
cant wait for the speed utvs to come out!
Doug is so awesome!
I'd look into and try to put a oil pressure sensor in some place and make it so if it looses oil pressure it cuts ignition....and maybe see about putting a windage tray in the pan with holes in it to keep some oil in the sump for oil pump and maybe try to run the pickup closer to bottom of the pan
My Corvette has the Z51 track performance upgrade. The dry sump oil system is made for just this problem. You can't track run a C7 or C8 Corvette without the dry sump system. You don't want to oil starve the engine with lateral G forces. The SxS's don't USUALLY experience extended lateral G's. Usually. Good luck with the rebuild. Love the channel.
Classic tough break situation! Ooof!
We have a pro r in our shop after looking at the motor running the long axis instead of cross ways . I can see now how it might of starved the oil system but I believe it was a combo of things
Yeah with the reliability oozing off that bad boy
Tough break boys. She'll come back stronger!
Dual mass fly wheel boys! Seen them on the VW and Audi cars forever.
Yeah same thing happened to me when I was doin cyclones on my Zero Turn … cooked the motor … now I’m putting in a turbo since it’s gonna be upgraded… 🤷🏻
laughed hard than I probably should have at 10:30. Nick and Leo
Frankie is my favorite! So funny. 😂
Thank god yall washed it before pulling the motor. I was about to have a nervous breakdown. Lol
I seen the pond off the highway, y'all was ripping around on a few weeks back.
So first I should wait for the stop sale and polaris fixes their issue like the 16’ turbo and makes more power? Second make sure to get an extended warranty but then can’t modify it? Third wait to see can ams response with more power?
Id check the oil journals make sure there all clear make sure they havnt got anything blocking them id say seeing how the crank doesnt sit into the oil pan and its got somekinda weird windage tray thing going on the rotating assembly just cant get oil easy when ripping tight donuts lol
NBA Jam baby!!! He’s on fire!!!!
I wish I could afford a side by side I love watching you guys' videos it's awesome
I thought I had bad luck. You guys have me beat!
IF you watch the PRO STAR PRO R engine video they show something else behind the primary like an additional clutch.
Top notch video..
Heck yeah dudes
BOW THERE IS A SIGHT... A CF MOTO PULLING A DEAD PRO R... PERFECT AD FOR CF MOTO
I wonder if polaris had a board meeting over this video ?
@10:30 nick and Leo in the time lapse! Priceless! Lol
Cant wait to see what mods if any are done to this engine.
Looks like a nice meaty closed deck block. Time for rods, pistons, some oiling mods and a big ol' turbski
Baffled sump for the win 👌also Dr tune-a-few for the win too, a Doug is a much underestimated tool in any workshop haha
I think this would be a perfect time for a turbo 😂
Super pumped she is not totally cooked. Had a feeling there would be potential issues going to a 4cylinder but I think it's the future
Looking at that engine and my dad's old 61 MG midget gives me ideas...
That sucks but I can't wait to see how you build it back better and more power
Looks like it saw you on the big end.
Upgraded rods/pistons/Slap new bearing in add turbo/motec and let dr. Tune a few get at it. 500hp ripper.
Dry sump for the rebuild? And get an oi pressure sensor and a turbo while at it.
Wow! Amazing video! There is a lot to that engine! Seems kinda crazy that doing a cyclone would do all that to that engine. I hope you guys kind figure out a fix for that. Maybe Polaris will learn something from you guys? I wonder was the engine low on oil?
2018 Polaris sportsman 850 has that same dampener thing had to replace mine when the engine blew up it sounded like the new engine was knocking
You guys need to come to Canada 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
Just what I wanted to see 👀 🙂
You should try to do a dry sump if it’s possible for that engine! I really enjoy your guises Contant you make me laugh every time I watch it!
Looks like you found a design flaw on the new unit. Keep up the great content!
