It also allows you to maintain the libraries in the form of dependencies which is quite useful even when u r setting up ur project in a new machine. Bcz maven downloads those libraries for u without much manual intervention

Archetype decides which model we want. If we don't much about archetype then we can skip the archetype selection. Then it will create a basic model of maven project
