Not only are these pretty big but a lot of them are really well timed and seem to only wind the tackled player compared to knocking them out. Its a good video showcasing timing more than anything.
The defender can’t hit the ball runner with their shoulder or upper arm unless they make contact with their hands or arms first. There is no requirement to wrap up a player in the course of a tackle like there is in Union. Additionally League doesn’t punish accidental head clashes.
🤦♂️ this is why union is gaining more recognition as a world sport, ya'll advertise rugby league as a thuggish game. Biggest and baddest hits? Really did a 17 yr old make this
Rugby League has been like this for decades if you dont like it, theres plenty of other sports to watch. May i suggest tennis as the opponents dont come into contact with each other. But seriously, the game used to only have a 5m rule i.e. teams are only ~10m apart on the play the ball, it was changed to 10m so now teams are up to 20m apart and hence we get bigger collisions. Its a part of the game and i doubt that its the only reason people watch the sport.
Gaining so much recognition that two of its biggest competitions are bleeding teams/money? There were plenty of “rugby’s biggest hits” videos back in the day before big hits became a rarity in union
Tapine hit on Walsh tackle of the year 😂
I concur but gotta say Kafusi splitting the cheese was a pleasure to watch.
A lot of these hits bring back memories of former Manly winger / “Hitman” Jorge Tafua, who was certainly no slouch in the big hit department ☝️😁👍

Some of theses are more decent tackles then big hits.
Olam on Tannah Boyd should have been included
So you dont have to wrap your arms in league? Genuine question.
you have to attempt to wrap the arm. tucking your arm against your body and hitting with the shoulder isnt allowed.
@@bb198 it looks like some are just shoulder charging and kinda wrapping with the other arm. Is that enough of an attempt to wrap?
@@TeWheroyou can make shoulder contact first with a half wrap - if the contact send them to the ground before you fully wrap them it’s fine
@@jake567100 oh okay cool. That clears it up, thanks.
