The Jaunpuri is magnificient - like heavy metal version of Indian classical music!
And the Bilawal played with the sweetness which only this Gharana can play in Sitar. And he tops it with my favourite bandish in Bhairavi. Perfect

I always enjoy how Ud. draws me in with his performance and musicality. He knows how to emote very well with the surbahar, and always lets the listener know even though it's a professional performance, it's ok to smile while playing. His sense of intonation is incredible. He also draws the sound out of that Kharaj so well!

    Maharaj - Pranam !
As a lover of Indian Classical Music and as honor of Ustad Irshad Khan, may I request the below:
    1. Put Ustad Ji's name in the video title itself.
    2. Ragas played: Jaunpuri, Bilawal, Bhairavi Raag Malika.
    3. Raag JAUNPURI is a rare treat from Imdadkhani Gharana, which was recorded by Ustad Imdad Khan Sahib some time around 1902 on Surbahar.
    4. In this concert Ustad Ji also played BILAWAL in AdaChautal and then Teen Taal with accompaniment of Pt. Tanmoy Bose.
    5. Finally he played BHAIRAVI Raag Malika.
    6. Ustad Irshad Khan is playing the Surbahar of his paternal grandfather - legendary Ustad Enayet Khan Sahib.
If the title and description of this video is changed accordingly with relevant and accurate information, it will reach to the wider audience.
    Thanks in advance !
    Regards,
    Ramprapanna Bhattacharya

Aha!seems like the pathos, pity and the sorrow of raag komal rishav ashabari are coming out from his sitar...

Maharaj, please mention the name of Ustadji in title. Its not komal rishav ashabari. It is Jaunpuri, then Alahiya Bilawal. Then Bhairabi raagmala. Just feel the pure essence of them.

Love his music. Always. The sound guy had the input gain set way too high, hence the distortion throughout. This wonderful performance deserved to be recorded properly for posterity. (Note to anyone who wishes to make such videos - read the manuals for the gear you buy. They always say how to avoid such an issue.)
