I'm not a huge fan of rap, but her Filipino rap in this cover isn't only great because of how fast she does it. It's actually not just a mishmash of rhyming words said very quickly, but a pretty deep, pretty meaningful statement saying how know-it-alls shouldn't make the mistake of messing with her as her words will shoot them down. Oh, and Filipino/Tagalog isn't even her mother tongue/first language. She's from Mindanao and speaks the Visayan language so her Filipino/Tagalog actually has more of an accent than her English which she actually speaks/sings spot on as far as pronunciation and diction are concerned. When she rolls her Rs or tweaks the sounds to make it different, she actually does it on purpose. As you'll see if you watch more of her singing different songs, she loves "playing" with songs and being full-on creative with them to the point where, even when she sings covers, she truly owns what she sings.

FACT:
KZ had a benign tumor in her throat in her high school days which was operated which then caused for her to lose her upper register but it did not stop her from singing. Instead she embraced a unique style of music which is pleasing to the ears even without the use of high notes. Salute to KZ.
she is good, high notes are not all of that exist in music, there are people with low voices who sing beautiful she is an example of it, Barry White had the lowest register in history and he was and still is the best singer in the world, I just don't like the arrangement of the song, it is not her voice.

So i've been getting a bit of heat for the auto tune comment, and I thought i'd elaborate to clear up any confusion.
Just to clarify, i'm not saying she is using auto tune through the whole performance, i'm explaining the effect during the intro, which is an effect by using auto tune at it's most aggressive, to distort the notes being sung. It's know as the 'Cher Effect, as she was the first to use it for "believe". It was first used with the Antares software, but I imagine there are now a great deal of other programs available.
Everything after the intro is her voice and probably has reverb and other general mic settings on it, as any other performance would have. So, to be clear, i'm NOT insinuating she's using auto tune to correct anything, but rather to use it as an effect for the INTRO ONLY. I base this off of my many many years experience in coaching, performing live, and session recording in studios. I can tell the difference between reverb and auto tune, as they are completely different effects, used for different purposes. Reverb is used to create a tiny echo on the vocal, to soften it and make it sound more resonant, auto tune is used to correct pitch, and pushing auto tune to the max is used as an effect to make the voice slide in a non human way. you can read this link for a wee bit more info:

That's her own arrangement. 💕Whenever she sings she always had her own creativity in every songs she perform. She had her surgery and she also can belt before but after the surgery she can't belt anymore. So she changed her style in singing which gives more attention for her because she was very creative and in love in music. Check more of her she's so amazing!!

Yes, she is fantastic! I still remember how this performance of KZ gave me goosebumps all over me while I was watching it on a Chinese website in my apartment in China on 2008 Chinese New Year. Honestly, i didn't know who KZ was as I had never watched anything on RUclips since I started working in China and China happened to block RUclips and many other social media websites a year after I got there. Everybody was talking about this girl who got to beat Jessie J (who I didn't know at that time too, pardon me about that.) Since I wasn't able to go home on that Chinese NY holiday and just had to stay in my apartment, I searched for it on Chinese website and saw her video singing that song and since then, i got hooked by her. She is indeed a total performer! She was loved in China for her amazing talents of making any song as if it was her song, she can make her own version of the song and sing it so well, even better than the original so it was so disappointing how the people who were there judged the whole thing and made her not even come close to the finals. She would have been a good match to Jessie J, seriously! But good thing Jessie J saw her amazing talents and she was wise to use her as one of her partners at the finals, that sure helped her a lot to win the title of being the best singer that year.
Tagalog is not a fast language it is our national language because Philippines have more than 100 languages some of it are fast but Tagalog is not fast thank you for reacting to our Kz Tandingan ☺️

I would also recommend Hua Chenyu from Singer 2018, and would probably start with "Nunchucks". Another unique performance on Singer 2018 is "Heaven" by Tengri. In the intro, my guess was always that instead of having someone backstage manipulating things, she was controlling the autotune by the way she was singing. When she sang purposely in between pitches, the machine would automatically and drastically correct the note to the next nearest pitch. After reaching the mid point between 2 notes, it would suddenly switch to the next note. I think on the last note she is using it for, she is singing a smooth descending slide (the part where the camera tilts), but we hear the slide broken up into distinct, very quickly changing pitches. That's what I thought was happening , because it is usually used for pitch correction, but in this case it is being used creatively, rather than to mask an imperfection. I just listened to it again and maybe I'm wrong. You could use the device that way though.

The live band on The Singer kills it every time, it’s easy to see why they can pull in a billion people each week.
One amazing performance from this season is Tengri doing “heaven” and it’s a must! Even Dimash had to request a duet after seeing it which says a ton! Super unique vocal techniques also, I’ll be interested to see if you’ve ever heard anything like it.

I love her using the heavy autotune almost as an additional instrument which she manipulates with her voice- you can still hear the growls & rhythmic adlibs thru the effect... & the contrast between the sweet organic acoustic guitar & the robotic vocal thing is genius imho. I also love the jazzy chromatic bits she goes for on top of that latin beat. Great arrangement & production values on this TV show all round really. I have a soft spot for when Jessie J had her come back to do the Minaj rap in BangBang on the last show of the season- that was *quite* epic! :)

samuel daffon Hey Samuel! Check out my pinned post, she states in an interview that it is auto tune at the start ( used as an exaggerated effect like I said). She even tells us it’s a TC Helicon Voicelive 2. The effect used on that particular piece of tech is called “Hard Tune” :)
