Is it bad if that first wire you removed comes completely out?

Yeah I gotta replace the tube seal on my porter cable compressor . I cant get past 70 pounds of pressure and I can feel the air blowing out the back where the tubes are at . it doesnt look like an exspensive fix . I imagine the tube seals cant be no more than a couple of dollars
