I remember seeing someone put in a 428 in 68 Firebird and made the Firebird look completely (stock) original with the 428 badges on the hood and 428 badges on the fenders and on the rear right corner of the trunk lid. Pontiac should have really made the 428 CID Firebird as the bigger CID would have made it a serious contender to the Chevy 427 and 454. However, the 400 Pontiac engine in a GTO or Firebird was a serious contender with the Chevy 396. The 69 Firebird features here is pretty nice but I'm old school. It's always nicer to see original engine chrome accessories but everyone has their own personal tastes I suppose. I always liked the original Cragar SS 5 spoke wheels as everyone and anyone who had a fast car in high school had Cragar SS 5 spokes on their car

I'm guessing it's a 400 stroked to a 456. The butler boys make alot of good combos for the good old ponch blocks. Gotta love the never ending torque of a true pontiac. Either that or he's off a digit. Lol. I've got a 75 bird with a 455 and mildly stroked to a 467. The crank comment is funny though. You can use a 455 crank in a 400 to help make a stroker. Going to need more then just a crank to get her done.😉
