Street Fighter II Turbo (Actual SNES Capture) - Ken Playthrough on Max Difficulty

- This is a capture of me playing through Street Fighter II Turbo on the SNES. This is not an emulator and was not played on the Wii or Wii U Virtual Console. This footage was recorded directly from my Super Nintendo using a real Street Fighter II Turbo cartridge. I'm using my favorite character, Ken, and playing on max difficulty (8 stars).
So who wants some new Street Fighter II footage in 60 fps? Once again, I didn't lose a single round while playing on the highest difficulty and turbo setting.
This playthrough is similar to my last one, except I didn't use the cheap strategy on Bison this time. However, I still had to use cheap tactics on Zangief and Guile because they're rotten bastards. Guile will stop everything with his Flash Kick, and Zangief will grab you from a ridiculous range with his Spinning Piledriver. So they deserve to be exploited.
Like before, I'm playing with a four-star turbo setting. I've had some people request the hidden 10-star turbo mode, but I've tried it, and it's just flat-out absurd. I can't even react in time at that speed.
I've been a Street Fighter II fan since The World Warrior first hit arcades in 1991. I remember the first time I played it at a 7-Eleven near my elementary school. I instantly got hooked and couldn't stop thinking about the game even during class. Of course, at the time, I didn't know how to do any of the special moves, but that didn't stop me from playing the crap out of the game. In fact, when I was only 7 or 8 years old, I entered a Street Fighter tournament hosted by that same 7-Eleven. They hooked up a bunch of Street Fighter II cabinets outside the store and had everyone play against each other in elimination matches. Naturally, I got my ass kicked in the first match, but I still had fun!
Once I learned the special moves I started getting more proficient, and for Christmas of 1992, my brother and I received a brand new Super Nintendo as well as a copy of Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. We played that game to death. I remember all the neighbor kids coming over to our house to play it and we would hold our own little improvised round robin matches. By that time I started clobbering everyone with Ken. Damn was it fun. I even remember that some specific friends of ours (two brothers) picked up a Super Nintendo just to get to this game. That's how popular Street Fighter was back then.
A few years ago I replaced that World Warrior cartridge with a complete copy of Turbo because it's just so much better. One of my friends used to own Turbo, so I got to play it at his house as a kid. Plus I used to rent Turbo and Super Street Fighter II even though I owned the World Warrior. That's how fun the games were.
Enjoy the higher quality footage.
Recorded with the Hauppauge HD PVR and the official SNES S-video cable at 60 frames per second. I used a Toshiba model D-R550 DVD Recorder to upconvert the SNES's native 240p signal to 480i so that the Hauppauge could capture the console's audio/video signal.
I'm using a standard SNES controller. - Игры
This game never gets old. One of the best fighting games of all time.
I love this game back in the days
@@veronicemitchell8343 But I still love it!!! Master Piece ever.
You're absolutely right.
The best
THE BEST... EVER
Those sights and sounds are so nostalgic.
@Soupy Sails ㄷ
It truly is
@Soupy Sails this was out in 94 bro
I’m actually crying right now, my dad just had a stroke and kidney failure he’s in the hospital dying, but as a kid when he would come home from working a 12 hour day on a Friday he would sit down from 8-11pm and and play street fighter with me and my brother
I'm sorry to hear that.
Man thats terrible... im sorry for you ;(
Damn roblox must be a pretty crazy game if he’s oofing irl
I'm 40 now and my father is fighting against cancer. in the 90's i used to play SF in the little t.v on the kitchen while my mother was preparing our dinner.
Wow, I will pray for you. I hope everything is well.
Oh man, the memories. This was my first snes game my mom bought for me as a kid.
I just buy this snes, to remember the old days, with this game,
@chad1989 why don’t -u- * You.
Pero si tu acabas de nacer
17:13 wow, what an impressive clutch moment! I did not expect that comeback!
Sagat was the bane of my 7 year old life. That and chores.
I miss the 90's so badly.
@MeetTheGaddys Podcast remember pogs and tamagotchis and mighty max and creepy crawlers??
Me too!
Me 2! Back when there were no shady DLC purchases, no annoying system updates. There was no social media, no FB, no smartphones, everything was old school
@@dennismolina9033 If you have 30th anniversary edition the easiest way to unlock him is with a second controller.
@@johntziannis359 thank u, i definitely have the 30th anniversary edition! I have it on the go with the Switch and PS4, i love my Street Fighter! lol
i remeber the first time playing this game.. my brother connecting the snes to the tv just waiting in anticipation... miss the good old days..
if u like his fights then check out mine babyboy
Baby Fresh 2.0 is not about that dude....
That's the old retro days of gaming, especially on the old CRT 📺
Love, love, love this game! Boy, on the hardest level the computer would always cheat so bad like when Guile could walk towards you while doing a flash kick. 😝
Yeh the computer defo cheated
He wasn’t hard it was m bison you could just bat him off with fireballs and dragon punches he want even good to be
Love how they call out the country when you fly there
This will always be a classic
Cool Typhoon yes it sure will
*Still is!* ⭐️
Thanks for the nostalgia trip, especially at the ken vs sagat fight, that 1st round gave me chills
Even seasoned vets know not to mess with Sagat's 🐅💪🏽
You have to time it
Tiger Uppercut
Shit dangerous
I always hated when the CPU health guage was 0 and its like seriously you not dead yet??? Capcom knew how to trigger your rage meter
Eric Fisher
Cheeky bastard of a health bar hides behind the KO letters.
Yeah, that’s always annoyed me. I see their bar go fully read only to realize they’re not dead yet, and sometimes I even manage to get KO’d before I can finish them.
SO ANNOYING!
I know! It makes u wanna throw ur controller at the 📺 lol
also play super street fighter 2 and use the super button and kill ur enemy
Vega gave me the absolute most trouble as a kid. Then I grew up and it’s like why was he so much trouble as a kid lol
For me it was sagat lol Vega was tuff to because he would jump of the gate
Vega just had an intimidation factor to him due to his speed lol it's what scared me as a kid. then we grew up to realize if you get passed the intimidation he's actually the easiest boss lmao.
I've played this when I was a kid. I wish I could go back to those days.
Nice play through and I appreciate the use of a real snes!
Thanks.
He's playing on PC
John Muñoz *Wii know!*
John Muñoz no he isn’t
Cloud ☁️ in blanka stage moves in SNES turbo?
I actually clapped on round one with sagat. who the hell am i.
EPIC Comeback round 1 vs Sagat though!!!! hahaha
Good lord that was the sickest comeback I've ever seen
Holy shit, what a comeback
Lol this just happened to me, I was playing as Sagat, I was about to be KO’ed, but then I started to hit my opponent (Ryu) without taking damage and I won the round...
Yes it was.
I used to own this game too before the SNES was given away. So many of these were pretty much the same tactics I used too, from the neutral jump roundhouse on Zangief cheese to the close roundhouse spam for all of the bonus rounds. Thanks for the memories!
Man i miss these games! I LOVE how its continuously flashing "press start"... Back in the day you had to have real life friends to have fun!
i remember in mexico they had an arcade next to my fav restaurant i was 5.fell in love with this game.
awesome job. i did this when i was 15(i'm 36 now). hardest difficulty, no rounds lost. still my biggest video game achievement.
Rodzilla97. how i like dis game so bad i got it on my fone for moving around purpose
I’d like to see that. I’ve never seen anyone do it on the hardest difficulty and 4 star turbo without using a lot of continues. On the actual SNES in one play through.
Film your tv with your SNES hooked up and on only one play through.
You’ll notice there is no RUclips video like that, because it’s basically impossible
You tube videos are too easy to edit/fake.
ابراهيم الجبوري it was just done on this video
I literally just finished beating this game on the actual SNES and immediately after on the SNES Classic mini (for comparison purposes, of course.) I used to be able to beat it in the hardest difficulty but now I'm far from being able to do that. Watching this video to get hyped and give it a try!
Great vid and playthrough man, really enjoyed it
60fps footage is the real deal, good job man!
One of the best fighting games of all time! Now that’s talent and impressive skills
8:07 This moment feels like a Heart attack.
I read the whole description. Great backstory!
Man I loved this game! Bring back so many memories.
One of my favourite all time games. Still play it in 2020
Unusual Noodle *Do you have the Mini like everybody else here?!?*
My childhood! Thank you for this video. And, you didn't spam the shit out of the fireball. Nicely played!
very nice, liked the throw on Round 1 vs Bison to finish
I love the sounds of the hard fierce kick
This was such an improvement upon the first version of SF 2.
I loved the ability to change the speed and iirc wasn’t this when Chun Li got her fireball for the first time?
I also believe you could destroy Vega’s claws right?
Owen Wilson just finished the game
Miguel Avalos III your a fool for this one! This made my day lol
That's awesome. I never caught that before! lol
Wow
That’s right.
An I missing a joke here?
This is the best out of every Street Fighter. I dread to think how many days' worth of my childhood I spent playing this game, but I know this: I can't have touched it for a quarter of a century, but I can still remember the moves.
Haha concur. I still play this several times a week 😅
StreetFighter IV is pretty good. I had some damn good times playing that game. StreetFighter II Turbo on Super Nintendo will always be the classic though!
Super classic game. Top 10 great. And your beast at it bro, nice skills.
Que saudades disso aí, melhor jogo da minha infância, nessa época eu tinha amigos
Enjoyed this quite a bit! 👍
That hundred hand slap is so OP... Great playthrough!!!
Thanks.
The speed of the game was crazy fast compared to the world warrior, and I remember people saying they loved it!
But why was zangief's spinning piledriver so complicated to do??
It was a move I was never able to pull off... My brother could do it easily... He was the better player all along...
Jahroam Fire because if you were playing on super nes it was hard to do a circular motion on a square directional pad, was easier playing in the arcade with a joystick
@@nayyarrashid4661 ㄷㄷ
@Super Mario and the side you are facing does not affect the direction of this movement.
Was such a bitch to do. I remember doing it out of a jump as I landed, or sometimes out of a block.
I have always loved the music of the end credits! :)
The SNES version was kinda unique, it wasn't arcade perfect but the SNES did the job well done
Thank you! I love this game!
I think everyone that plays street fighter always does the classic jump kick and low kick to start off.
Always!
NOO WAAYYY my friends have one of the SNES consoles it doesn’t have cartridges but the games are kinda like preinstalled and so all weekend now we played this and we were all wondering how in hell you trigger the special moves… I still have yet to find out. Next time we play Im gonna kick ass! Also I never played these games but they sure are a lot of fun, judging by how you said it as well.
Also the bison cheese is op, and I didnt know Guile and Zangief were broken, as we thought Honda and Dhalsim were just unfair.
This was so satisfying to watch, thank you bro ❤
THE SAGAT COMEBACK HOLY BALLS
Good video. Nice 1st round comeback on Sagat. Shame about the barrels :;
You win Perfect i love Ken and ryu
Damn this dude is good at this game
Nice job! Taking advantage of Ken's combo focused Tatsumaki Senpu Kyaku!
Thanks.
+WatchmeplayNintendo how to drop haduken?
It's almost imposibe to get a perfect on hard mode, good shit bro
2:15 NIIIIIICCCEEE TIMING! Damn! My man pulled an Ike Turner on Chun Li! 😂
16:43
Bro, you've got expert mobility, dodging all the tiger and blocking tiger uppercuts. I couldn't do that if my life depended on it.
just re lived my childhood. game will never expire .
Ken 00:38
Chun LI 1:55
Zangief 3:08
Dhalsim 4:41
Honda 7:48
Ryu 6:17
Blanka 9:50
Guile 11:13
Balrog 13:25
Vega 15:18
Sagat 16:39
Bison 18:41
Nostalgia.
i wish the new sf games stayed loyal to these with the benefits of today's technology.the rythm and i tensity, the character designs the combos and the graphics.everything was perfect
Chraig Smb I think what you about you said that everything was perfect was spot on. For what it was at the time and now it's impossible to improve. I honestly don't think I have played a game more addictive.
+Chraig Smb agreed. I'm not a fan of multi-hit combo counting and 'juggling' like in modern games.
Leon Watson marvel vs capcom 2 was a true legacy though
Doggysoft yep..i tried the new sf and my sisters laughed at the game like "wtf is this the so called legendary game? It's horrible"
Then i had to explain that the original sf were to us what marvel vs capcom2 was to them and they got my point
The fundamentals still work even in the most recent of games, even though SFV kinda mucked things up quite a bit.
Flashbacks to the shoruyken and hadouken battles I’d have with my little brother in the game. Good times!
Takes me back. It's a lot hard on speed 8 stars and max difficulty
As a kid this was always the game that I wanted to find at every store. Always sold out or they would sell a watered down version that didn't have great graphics with moving people at background of the stages.
I love this game!
The music ambiance of each fighter, my god 🥲
ahh nostalgia--i love it
Sagat, what a nightmare... One of my best games, it was crazy when it came out, the slowness of SF2 was just a bad memory 🥳
the good ol jump and kick on zangief😊
That comeback against Sagat tho! For Vega to be somewhat of a sub boss I never found him hard to defeat, I rarely loss to him. Ken the GOAT
How was Vega's mask busted after he lost? 🤣🤣🤣
Perfect way to beat Bison, thrown right into that statue and SMASH!
my favorite game of all time
That's what made me get the SNES, the Genesis version wasn't as crisp and clean but it was still fun to play
That is Wat you call smashing it,wicked game
Great video, all time classic game!! I was a monster with sagat, it would be no way I would allow a comeback like that in the 1st rd! Lol j/k
unbelievable comeback lol.
Awesome video
12:04 the way Guile just facepalmed as if he was disappointed that Ken was still trying
Now this is the street fighter 2 that I remember.
I love this version, the songs don't change during combat.
You sir are awesome
Very well played
my first ever video game me and my older brother owned great memories
My god I want the vs screen jingle as my text message theme still to this day.
It's hard to finish it with 8 stars with Balrog, Guile, Zangief and Dhalsim!
My bad!!! You are badass!
I actuall like how you cheesed Zangief so hard XD
When I was a kid and played in the arcade, I wondered what was the thing you could see in the middle of the hadoken. Until I got my SNES paused it and saw their hands.
It took me longer to beat Vega than the actual game
Ken's theme man awesome
Thats nutty
I have an SNES and with this game. I am learning how to do the uppercut for ryu and Ken lol
Nice rounds but dude you gotta start turning that Sharooken into a triple when you get the chance. That triple is a lethal weapon!
I LOVE the speed difference from the original. Greatest SF game ever!
11:12 ah, the sound of two brothers squabbling. good times 🤜🏾 💥 🤛🏾
I thought it was a bot playing at first until I saw the ol' jump up and down on the spot technique vs Zangief!
5:30 that instant transmission counter kick was so clutch..
The memories...😊🥺♥️❤️
Capcom's magnum opus
amazing.
i miss my childhood a lot
I'm a 80s baby, 90s teen!
Doing a "Ohyouken" in the face of Vega when he is jumping off the fence made me laugh HARD! :D Usually I am just side-kick jump to counter this attack. Never saw this Ohyouken approach before. It's AMAZING lol
you mean "Shoryuken" ?
@@miguellovo2313 yes... that was part of the joke.. duh
@@NTPAmusementsCO i dont think you meant that as a joke, but whatever floats your boat man
@@miguellovo2313 I don't need to prove you anything moron :) Just float away as you said
guess you could say he *jumped* right into that one ~dad laugh~
god damn that Sagat 1 was close
Man, that sony sound chip was stretched as far is it could go in this one. INCREDIBLE audio on this classic
Chun Li always gave me a huge stiffy LOL
The hell is wrong with you?
@@mickeybreezy I could ask you the same question.
Nostalgia fue mi primer y único SF de la franquicia que tuve antes de cambiar de consola
