Wow, this is such an amazing video, one of my favorites. Whether you believe in what's being said or not, there's a certain level of respect that you should show as a human being. I love hearing evolutionary theories, looking into them, watching videos about them, etc. Just the same, I love learning about all sorts of religions. The more you understand, the better grasp you have on the world and the less ignorant you will be. I urge you guys to show that level of respect for others in the comments here. Well said! I'm on a Christian school in the Netherlands and we had religion education. We only learn about Christianity the first two years. The rest, we also learnt about the Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism. We even went to visit the synagogue and mosque in the city where I live.
I'm an atheist, and I appreciate the beauty and awe of the Holy Land and its significance to mankind. I also appreciate and love Devin's work. Just because I don't share his religion doesn't mean I can't like him and what he does. The whole purpose behind this video is to unite, not to divide as many of the petty comments here suggest. Telling someone they will burn in hell because they don't believe as you do is immature and does nothing to encourage people to embrace your faith. Likewise, smugly asserting that their is no God and challenging the faith of those who believe in a deity crosses a line. I still absolutely loved the video, just stating that showing an insight of the people (Gaza/West Bank) would also have been an appealing addition to the video. Neylena My point was that was irrelevant to the point of the video, they could have showed the thriving economy in Tel Aviv or the beautiful beaches, or the amazing architecture of the modern cities in Israel, that just wasn't the point of the video. Maybe i was a little rude but i think you can see just as easily as me, it would turn the video from some beautiful cinematic footage of one of the most culturally diverse places on earth into a politically charged mess.

Depends on negations, Palestinians have a stronger claim to east Jerusalem, but the Israelis have a stronger claim to West Jerusalem, West Jerusalem is mostly Jewish while, East is Mostly Palestinian with a few notable exceptions, also Isreal has been in control of west jerusalem since 1949, therefore being on the internationally recognized Isreali side of the green line, while East Jerusalem, was captured by Israel in the 6 Day War in 1967 from Jordan. It is not a black and white issue.

Harrison Conyers No body stole the land of the Jews because it wasn't for them anyways. The first people who lived in the holy land was the Canaanites and the philistines, then the Jews invaded the land after that.

The Arabs (there is literally no ethnic difference between Arabs/Jordanians and Palestinians). But it also created a lot of Jordanian/Palestinian refugees which the Arabs did NOT absorb because they wanted to use them to claim the land of Israel. When it became clear that Israel was not going to commit suicide by absorbing the Palestinian refugees as well, the Arab states under the leadership of President Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt launched a huge invasion against Israel, but to their surprise Israel knew what was coming, launched a preemptive strike and destroyed Arab armies especially their air power in six days (Six day war). This was so embarrassing to Nasser that he resigned only to come back later. Israel captured the Sinai peninsula, Gaza, West Bank and Golan heights. This also saw the beginning of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation and the rise of their very first Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. In other words, the Palestinian claim to a state can only be marked from 1967 whereas Israelis can go all the way back to AD 70. Then again the Arabs launched a war against Israel called the Yom Kippur war and lost again. This led to peace negotiations between Egypt and Israel and for a return for accepting Israel as a legitimate state and peace. Israel gave back the whole Sinai peninsula back to Egypt, but it came at a price. Egyptian President Anwar Sadat was assassinated. The Israelis still kept on giving peace offers to Palestinians but they refused at all costs. They wanted and still want the destruction of Israel. That is the story till now. It's that simple. If Israel layed down their weapons tomorrow, there would not be peace. The Palestinians would slaughter them. All of the hostility in Israel has been as a direct result of the violence the Israelis were met with when they first became a nation.

Honestly the content killed it for me. I think you've done better subjects. Visually on par with other past projects you've done for sure; but overall not the best video. A less polarizing subject would have been better. Hell had you just removed the narration it would have improved the video. Just let the sights speak for themselves, not some guy with a message proselytize the viewer on what they should see.
You can always turn the volume off if it takes away the experience from you :) At the end of the day we are story tellers though, and we don't want to create content for people to watch, walk away, and think nothing of it, instead we want to instill emotions, and give people a reason to think, to inspire, and to perhaps even question the very nature of themselves, if we can do that, then for us, we have achieved our goals as storytellers, for the stories we tell, we want people to walk away with a new perspective :)

Different narrators, music kept changing, it went from hyper drive to slow to fast to hyper drive to back to slow. I mean I get it, "the holy land" as you guys put it is a place of many cultures and few religions. But the impact, the video itself had, told a less effective story than your other video "TSR -RM." I'm sure this video will be liked by many, especially those who have some tiny connection to that place whether it be their religion, their heritage, culture or their place of life. But it sure won't be as great to anyone without those preexisting connections. A great story shatters boundaries and breaks barriers, this one just pandered in my humble opinion.

Whether you believe in what's being said or not, there's a certain level of respect that you should show as a human being. I love hearing evolutionary theories, looking into them, watching videos about them, etc. Just the same, I love learning about all sorts of religions. The more you understand, the better grasp you have on the world and the less ignorant you will be.

Well said! I'm on a Christian school in the Netherlands and we had religion education. We only learn about Christianity the first two years. The rest, we also learnt about the Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism. We even went to visit the synagogue and mosque in the city where I live.

Neylena My point was that was irrelevant to the point of the video, they could have showed the thriving economy in Tel Aviv or the beautiful beaches, or the amazing architecture of the modern cities in Israel, that just wasn't the point of the video. Maybe i was a little rude but i think you can see just as easily as me, it would turn the video from some beautiful cinematic footage of one of the most culturally diverse places on earth into a politically charged mess.

Basically, they put the camera on a rail. The rail moves slowly and the camera takes pictures continuously.
no I'm pretty sure they use pancrop wich is extremely easy. Record the video with a still image. Go into pancrop (what it's called in Sony Vegas) go to the start of the scene, zoom in a bit go to the very left, go to end of scene , move to very right , then exit out, ez

Depends on negations, Palestinians have a stronger claim to east Jerusalem, but the Israelis have a stronger claim to West Jerusalem, West Jerusalem is mostly Jewish while, East is Mostly Palestinian with a few notable exceptions, also Isreal has been in control of west jerusalem since 1949, therefore being on the internationally recognized Isreali side of the green line, while East Jerusalem, was captured by Israel in the 6 Day War in 1967 from Jordan. It is not a black and white issue.

Israel accepted one of the first UN resolution that established a single state with both Israelis and Palestinians living side by side. Guess who rejected that? The Arabs (there is literally no ethnic difference between Arabs/Jordanians and Palestinians). They instead launched a war against Israel and contributed to the establishment of the Israeli state after 2000 years in 1948. That war created a lot of Israeli refugees which Israel absorbed. But it also created a lot of Jordanian/Palestinian refugees which the Arabs did NOT absorb because they wanted to use them to claim the land of Israel. When it became clear that Israel was not going to commit suicide by absorbing the Palestinian refugees as well, the Arab states under the leadership of President Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt launched a huge invasion against Israel, but to their surprise Israel knew what was coming, launched a preemptive strike and destroyed Arab armies especially their air power in six days (Six day war). This was so embarrassing to Nasser that he resigned only to come back later. Israel captured the Sinai peninsula, Gaza, West Bank and Golan heights. This also saw the beginning of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation and the rise of their very first Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. In other words, the Palestinian claim to a state can only be marked from 1967 whereas Israelis can go all the way back to AD 70. Then again the Arabs launched a war against Israel called the Yom Kippur war and lost again. This led to peace negotiations between Egypt and Israel and for a return for accepting Israel as a legitimate state and peace. Israel gave back the whole Sinai peninsula back to Egypt, but it came at a price. Egyptian President Anwar Sadat was assassinated. The Israelis still kept on giving peace offers to Palestinians but they refused at all costs. They wanted and still want the destruction of Israel. That is the story till now.
It's that simple. If Israel layed down their weapons tomorrow, there would not be peace. The Palestinians would slaughter them. All of the hostility in Israel has been as a direct result of the violence the Israelis were met with when they first became a nation.

Honestly the content killed it for me. I think you've done better subjects. Visually on par with other past projects you've done for sure; but overall not the best video. A less polarizing subject would have been better. Hell had you just removed the narration it would have improved the video. Just let the sights speak for themselves, not some guy with a message proselytize the viewer on what they should see.
You can always turn the volume off if it takes away the experience from you :) At the end of the day we are story tellers though, and we don't want to create content for people to watch, walk away, and think nothing of it, instead we want to instill emotions, and give people a reason to think, to inspire, and to perhaps even question the very nature of themselves, if we can do that, then for us, we have achieved our goals as storytellers, for the stories we tell, we want people to walk away with a new perspective :)

Different narrators, music kept changing, it went from hyper drive to slow to fast to hyper drive to back to slow. I mean I get it, "the holy land" as you guys put it is a place of many cultures and few religions. But the impact, the video itself had, told a less effective story than your other video "TSR -RM." I'm sure this video will be liked by many, especially those who have some tiny connection to that place whether it be their religion, their heritage, culture or their place of life. But it sure won't be as great to anyone without those preexisting connections. A great story shatters boundaries and breaks barriers, this one just pandered in my humble opinion.

It was a Latter day saint general conference talk by Elder Uckdorf and elder Holland.
The voiceovers (two different speakers) were not "trying to be epic." They were selections from talks (sermons) given during General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Devin simply selected portions of the sermons that he enjoyed.
