It was such a wonderful concept that worked so well. Nothing is as good as this mail-order home, and nothing today even comes close to these build-it-yourself homes.
Thanks so much for this in depth history of the Sears home kits. I've read about these kits and seen a few pictures of the models but never knew the full story. I really enjoyed this video.
For a short while you could also order a car from Sears. It was a generic Henry J from Kaiser but it was a car sold by Sears that you could order from the catalog.
One of the things I noticed was the flow of background images and videos, a lot of which were not Sears homes. In fact, some of the images were of residential projects in Europe. Why??? Also, there was a tendency on the part of the narrator toward redundancy ... repeating the same things over and over again. This makes the video unnecessarily longer than it needs to be.
