I watched this video a month ago, end of May. Today, end of June, I'm driving through campgrounds in N Georgia... "Hey. I've seen that campground before. It was on RUclips." I can't believe I just ran up on your site, totally by accident. And remembered it from your video and your deck. Noticed the stairs in the deck first. That's what caught my attention.

Wow this layout looks almost exactly like our site!
Nice looking deck. When we built ours, we made it the same height as the camper. That way we could go in and out of the camper from the deck without having to step down. Now, or course, we had to go up/down stairs to get on the deck.
Most that know they won’t move their rigs will do the same as what you’re describing. We built ours to be a bit friendlier towards moving the unit from time to time. We didn’t want to re-install the stairs every time we moved the trailer.
Looks great brother! Deck looks awesome and very user friendly. I like the L shape and sure it helps to keep the camper floor cleaner with 2 kiddos. Coming from someone who has built or worked on probably thirty decks, put something on it when the lumber dries. It will be well worth the expense considering the added longevity of the deck.

Cory, have you considered making a hinged access panel in front of your trailer steps? That way you could open it up to fold the steps.
absolutely... that was actually our first thought. If we start to move it more often I'll go that route.

LESSON: Never doubt your abilities if you are at all handy. This man had a deck built that turned out far below par from what he himself built. So if you have skills, always trust that you can do just as good a job as a professional service, if not better. What a great set-up for outdoor living!

Thank you for the video. Do you leave your tanks open to the sewerage for permanent stays? Or do you just leave the hose connected and flush the tanks when it’s time?

Thinking about putting an RV hookup on my yard, semi-permanent spot. I can wrap my head around getting power and water to it, but how does the sewer work? I mean I can understand running some kind of flexible pipe and connecting it to my clean out or something, but how does waste guaranteed to not back up like that, if it's not constantly sloped down?
Have you had any rodent problems in the trailer? I thought of putting glue traps around the tires and hose and wire connections so they can't climb up

I’ve thought about it. Since I’m about ready for a new set anyway I may wait. Like you mentioned, they get very little if any sun.

3. Are you allowed to rent the spot if you are gone on a trip of your own?
4. How frequently do you plan to take trips with this unit?

Looks like a beautiful site! I love the deck but what do you do to keep the critters(Skunks, Raccoons, Wasp…) from making their home under it?
Just keep it clean and tidy. Those critters love a mess. Not much you can do about Wasps or bees. Part of being outside. Those we will just take care of once we see them.
I LOVE your setup - really nice work that you did ! Any hints for those who would like to consider a full time site (We live in a suburban area near Philly and I am not aware of any "desirable" campgrounds that offer permanent sites near us. Is there a website or other source where you can search these out? Any thoughts are appreciated, and thanks for sharing 😉

As long as your stabilizers are down you should be good up to hurricane force. All bets are off then.
Always enjoy your videos and your knowledge and willingness to share. I do have some questions so maybe some newbies like myself can get a better understanding of the need for a permanent site. Is this partly necessary due to restrictions from your HOA and you are just looking for a nice place to keep it? I currently keep my unit at a storage facility (a very nice one at that) and it is only about 15 minutes away from where I live. I can only keep my unit on my property, or the street, for a few days before the HOA will complain. It just seems as though the distance to visit your site would make it more of a chore to do so regularly. If I had the acreage to keep my unit on my land, and there were no restrictions against doing so, I would do so on my own land. I hope to be in that situation in the very near future. Although I do like the facility where we keep it now, there is nothing like having it right near us on our own land. Just asking these questions as a general inquiry. Thanks for all that you do!
Appreciate you guys watching. To answer your question I first want to clarify there are no needs when it comes to RV’ing. Everything is a want really. With that said we certainly didn’t need a permanent site. The permanent site does have its advantages though. We have a HOA as well and we store our 2nd RV at a facility 10 minutes away from our home.
In short the permanent site is just another option for us. The vid above explains more.

Thank you! We pay $180 per month. It’s in the N Georgia Mountains. Of course we don’t get into specifics on location since we aren’t there all of the time.

I was just telling my wife I want a fire poker stick last weekend camping. I don't see your on your Amazon page and have not seen any like the one you quickly looked over. It looks a lot thicker than the ones I have seen on Amazon. What do you have and where did you get it from?
It was hand forged in the blacksmith shop at DollyWood. If you’re ever there pick one up. They have a few different styles. I have another I snagged at an antique shop. Also a good place to look.
Since you are wintering, do you not live full time in your camper? Also, are you paying a company for a monthly permanent site?
No, this is just a weekend place. Yes, these sites are leased yearly.

Obviously we can’t give specifics but this site lies in the North Georgia mountains.
@@WanderingWeekends Thank you for that. Knowing that the mountains there are nothing like the western mountains, but, are the summers any less brutal where you are? It gets really hot and sticky in that area.
Yes, the summers are a great deal milder in the mountains. Up to 10+ degrees most of the time.
How much does a site like this run per month/year?
It’s going to vary wildly. Some places are $1500 per year, some are $5000 or more.
roughly how much per site if you dont mind me asking?
$1950 for the year. Includes water and sewer. Power is separate and depends on how much you use of course. Ours is about $300 a year.
Did You say dimensions of decks
I don't think so. It's around 30ft long and about 12 ft wide I believe. We also have that addition for the table and chairs.

What are the dimensions of the deck?
I believe 12x32 for the main deck and then 12x8 for the dining area. I’m not 100 on that though. This was a rebuild from our last deck. We used much of the framing/joists from the old one.

This rv park only leases sites but there are certainly other parks with deeded lots available.

My wife and I just put our travel trailer on a permanen site. I have a question for you regarding "Black/Gray valves. Do you leave them open all the time? thank you, Ed
No, definitely leave them closed and only dump when full. You want everything to stay wet and the weight of the water helps pull more fun stuff out of the black tank. Use the grey to flush the black water just like at the dump station.
