ITSA here. Quotas for IT3’s and IT2’s are 100%. The Navy needs ITs (cuz no one stays since you make more money outside) and have ATF (6Year contract) for guaranteed E-2 from boot camp and guaranteed E-4 after your guaranteed C School. They often have enlistment bonuses too (I got $25K)
If you don’t mind me asking, how are you liking it so far? Also, how do you know what rank you will be placed in, does it depend on how you do in the ASVAB? What if I have a graduates degree? Not understanding how you will rank is what I am confused about
You really talked me into joining CS! Ive been cooking professionally for the last 7 years, 2 years being a Sous Chef and i wanted to get away from the same thing ive been doing but when you explain the job i genuinely loved almost every thing you said the job

@joefeng23 HM is the largest rate in the navy. I believe we are slightly undermanned as a whole but it also depends on your NEC. Our quotas were pretty good this past cycle so there were lots of advancements
Im joining at 35, i did a pretest and scored pretty high, the recruiter was happy to show me all the technical jobs. Im intersted in IT or even something with Sonar or cryptology. It will be awesome to get top secret clearance, too. And all the training to make me skilled. I work in a warehouse and am unhappy with it because i know im capable of more.
One thing she failed to mention, this list is curated on her experience and what she likes. If you are honestly wanting to know what you would like to do in the Navy, I would say, wait to enlist. Spend some time in the civilian sector and find the field you like. Or, don't go into a rate that promotes fast. Pick the rate that you know you will love. Hell, a rate that you already do and love, could be perfect for you. If you try to pick based off of someone else's experience, it won't get you far down the road. At the end of the day, put your likes before the likes of someone else. Again, this list is created from her view point and her likes. Please just do your research before going off of the words of one person. There's thousands of people in our great Navy and so many have different lists of what they would say do and don't do. That's my advice.
EXACTLY, that’s YOUR advice. & I have my advice just like I “MENTIONED” in the video. So she didn’t “fail to mention” anything. You must’ve failed to listen to what I said.
Hey shipmate...if I had to do it all over again I would be a YN or IT. I was a MM for 4 years and the hard labor ain't no joke if you're on a aircraft carrier.
Current CS3 here bring a CS isn’t that bad if you utilize your resources properly it’s a lot of hard work but we have it easier when it comes to quals and stuff ,we’re the heart of the ship
You aren't required to take it just because you qualified, but it can definitely be worth it. Nothing to be scared of, just be prepared to work hard and go through a long A School. It probably has the longest A School in the Navy but the benefits of getting through it can be pretty substantial, even if you decide to only do your initial 6 years and then go back to the civilian world. Of course, like anything, it's all what you make of it.
I was watching one of your videos earlier and you brought up the confirmation test and I was wondering if if you think it would happen if i took the practice test twice?
umm i’m not 100% sure so I don’t want to pass along any false information. If you were to talk to a recruiter they’ll for sure have a better answer than me 😭
I got AT from my list of jobs back from taking the ASVAB. I think the only reason I got it was because I scored alright in the assembling objects category.
