I love Twister story. I'm always surprised at the people who just don't seem to care that you a trying to conduct an interview and shoot a video. Great Job and video!!
I am from Kansas...have heard of Twister Specials before (or maybe I'm confusing them for Cyclone Mercurys), but I had no idea there was any relation. Cool little tidbit there. That they were mostly put together out of the KC (Missouri) plant, and that they took the "twister" idea from being in tornado alley.
Yep 🌪 Twister 🌪 we’re few but True Ford guys were well aware of them but they weren’t easy to come across in 70,s unless you were rolling in the 💰just like how many young guys are buying 2022 Shelby’s today
My 71 Bench seat GT 4 speed 351 4V was option less, no disc brakes no plover brakes no power steering, had the Laser Stripe, I added hideaways and a 4.56 Trac lok Posi. Miss that car to this day
A buddy of mine has an exact one that’s fully restored and he said his Marti report says it’s 1 of 90 Torino twister special cobras. However, Jim in the video says there were 88 Torinos and 2 Rancheros. Is the Marti report wrong and should it say 1 of 88 Torinos produced, or does the Marti report include Rancheros as well?
Not trying to start a argument but the Marti report on my 1970 Torino SCJ shows the paint color as Calypso Coral not the Vermillion Orange mentioned in the vid
I have always thought Torinos are under appreciated. Though Ford probably didn't help themselves out at the time marketing them to the right demographics. They probably got in their own way of selling more.
This guy is terrible at interviewing his guest!! He ask the older gentleman a question but immediately wants to answer his own question.. and very visibly gets irritated with his guest for trying to answer his questions.

I was there when these videos were shot. I would've never dreamed of intruding like some guy did here. Some people have zero situational awareness.
I’m a former owner of a 4-speed Torino Twister. Current owner is giving it a complete restoration right now.
Did they all come with bench seats or did some come with bucket seats?
A walking text book. That’s awesome. ✌️😎👍
I love you and miss your beautiful family and friends and I love you. 🎅 I lover you. ❤️ ❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
Dam, he is smart !!! Great Video!!!
I am not from Kansas, so I have never even heard of these Twister Specials before. Very enlightening. Thank you.

Cool vid! I had read about the Torino Twister specials, but DIDN'T know about the Rancheros! Time to start paying attention in the Kansas area.
Great job on these Mecum videos. Very interesting and informative. Looking forward to seeing this car cross the block at Kissimmee in a few days.

Back in the late 80s, there was a Red Twister Torino running around Hutchinson.

The numbers for all the twisters fall between 0A38J131596 and 0A38J134632, not consecutively.
From Twister site.
Little bit of work at some long tube headers it would have been a low 11 second
Is this car for sale? If so, can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Painted on performance. Should have been solid lifters in a 3/4 lol
You know you got it bad when you can smell FORD through a video. Ford had a better idea.
"VERMILLION RED" NOT ORANGE BUDDY. Vermillion is what my 71 is.
