90% of the Liu's strings cancel into Windmill Punch ... what's crazy though is that after Shaolin Flame, regular or EX, can cancel into WP ... why is that relevant? It means that on block, if you have your TIMINGS down tight, you can do string into Windmill Punch into Shaolin Flame into another rep of Windmill Punch and end it how you like or just let Windmill Punch rep on its own for the hit stun advantage and go for more pressure in case they didn't respect you buffing into Shaolin Flame. And it can work off of pokes too, but again, you need good execution. The catch with Flame Fist is that, between each end of the Windmill Punch, there is a gap you can poke Liu out of, and if you're good and they don't expect a second poke that can frame trap, you can put the FF Liu on the defense, but you have to have good pressure and mixes, otherwise he'll throw you back into the blender. FF Liu is oppressive and broken, sure, but not god tier. Apologies for the wall of text and hope it helped. ^_^
He is broken in several departments. He possesses ridiculous damage on hit,retarded staggers,builds meter a lot, he has a combination of the low and high projectile that deal 10 to 11.something% damage(that also control space very well by themselves and even more effectively with that damn overhead), he has a 1 frame parry, and he cancel specials into specials. Despite having gaps he can play safe and utilizes plus frames with his ex shaolin flame
If u have the skill to play dragons fire it’s much better then flames fist. And tbh, flame fist is easy to counter. I personally have the instant airs and ninja killa combos down so I prefer dragons fire.
