    Finally, a nice simple lesson of how to line brush. TY Doodle Doods. It is so important to learn this method for hairy dogs that need to go to the groomers regularly. Just put your dog on your lap, hassock or table while watching TV and you can relatively mindlessly brush away. I prefer my dogs to lie down on their side and they usually fall asleep. Also, it's never too late to teach your dog to hold still like ours do. Patience and a lot of little treats will go a long way to change your dogs attitude. Even if you need to start by only petting and stroking your dog with the back of the brush, not the bristles, for a while until they get used to it's presence. Look for videos on how to introduce grooming to your dog. BestWishes!

    BRAVO!!!!! As a professional groomer of 15 years I want to genuinely commend you for the work that you were doing on this RUclips channel. I literally see matted Doodles everyday and I try to have these conversations with customers and it gets so old after a while because they just don't understand or care to understand. I will be recommending your channel to my doodle clients in the future to maybe prevent having to shave their dogs in the future. I don't know why but I think people think that groomers get a kick out of shaving every lick of hair off of a dog from tip to tail... WE DO NOT WANT TO SHAVE YOUR DOG DOWN TO NOTHING. IT SUCKS!!!!! Again thank you so much and keep it up!!! 👍👏👏👏🐕🐾😘💯💯💯🐩🦮🐾🛁🧽✂️

      Thanks for the kind compliments. Early on we noticed this concerning issue with Doodles and their owners and thought, we need to educate people. So I appreciate your encouragement as a professional groomer and glad that we can be a resource for you and your clients :)

      Thank you for your endorsement of this video. It helps knowing what videos are the ones to watch. I don't even have my puppy yet, but I've been trying to watch so many videos to educate myself so I know how to groom properly. I wasn't sure if it was okay to ask a groomer to teach me how, but I just want to do the best for my pup when I get her. ❤️

    Great technique- I love that you are only using your fingers to hold the brush, rather that holding it firmly and pulling the skin. Also I like tha your dog isn’t strapped up- immobilizing a dog and hurting them over and over often causes severe ptsd.

    Thanks for your tutorial! I discovered all these mats behind my labradoodles ears and realised I need to be doing something differently. I also watched your brush review and splurged on the Chris Christensen brush. I used it for the first time today and you are right that it just glides through!! I was amazed at how much better it could be compared to other slicker brushes. It's hard to tell unless you use it yourself. Thanks for your videos!

    Thanks. My doodles both seem to have incredibly sensitive skin. So they are in fact scared of being brushed. My question too is, how do you properly reach places like the belly and the paws as someone who's motor skills aren't the best? I really struggle to get there properly (even when the dogs are standing) without laying them on their back on my lap.
    I'm definitely planning on reintroducing them to brushing. It clearly causes them a lot of pain (I do use a slicker brush)😔

    Mine has tight curls, very matted. I tried to cut him close (shave), but the trimmer clogged the blades every few inches. He looks like I used a hatchet to trim him, or has a bad case of mange. I’ll try your way.

      If you line brush correctly it shouldn't hurt unless you're working through some seriously stubborn knots, tangles, or mats.

      You just need a metal comb and a slicker brush. You don’t need the exact same brand

    • @ivyrose779
      @ivyrose779 3 года назад +1

      Not sure where you’re looking, but that brush retails for $60-$65 which in my book is still pricey for a brush. Any slicker brush will do as long as the tines are long enough to get through your dogs coat down to the skin. That’s the key. Many cheap slicker brushes available at Walmart, Petco/smart, etc. don’t have tines that are long enough. I just purchased a Bass brand one. I’ve only had it for two days but it seems great so far. The small one was around $15 and the large was around $20.
