That's an excellent book, I have it and it's been invaluable to me. It also has transcriptions of a few of Django's improvised solos, which are quite fun once you get them under your fingers.
Hi everyone, be sure to check out Stochelo's forthcoming DVDs, "Palying in the style of Stochelo Rosenberg" (probably a 2-disc DVD) and "Gipsy Waltzes"... Release early summer 2009 !
I just do not see where you get that opinion. I merely started the video, saw a single person in the frame, and then switched to a different one before he had played much. It is not unimaginable that someone could perform this piece solo without playback. When I switched back to the window with this video in it, I realized after a few seconds what he was really doing.
the immortal Django Reinhardt wrote this tune in 1941!!!!!!!!! Stochelo's rendition is flawless and awesome! by the way CUBENSIS: there is a transcription in the book, DJANGO REINHARDT ANTHOLOGY (a hal leonard product) at 14.95 it's a bargain if you can decifer standard notation. It has transcriptions of 65+ "heads" as played by Django and/or Stephane.
I've been playing around with that one fast catchy riff...and it works perfectly with economy picking (on the string-changeing upstrokes). I know thats not the "true" way to play it, but try it out, its way faster and more effecient if you can't practice 4-12 hours a day, lol.
@CroissantOrange I was using the nomenclature introduced by the previous commenter to refer to the specific parts of this piece in a way that he would understand. I do not understand where you derive the rest of your argument, or how you expect anyone to parse it.
hey guys, can anyone post a slow motion video of this... or does anyone know of a link with tab and picking directions. I'm baffled as to his right hand pickin on those patterns.... cheers to all who love gypsy jazz!
@sintygypsy I might be dredging up old water, here, but I never really check my comment replies. No, I maintaing my original comment. You have obviously not seen much classical guitar (or even Stephen Bennett) if you defend that it is impossible to play the backup and the lead simultaneously. It would require an alternative tuning, an extra string, or partial capos, and it would definitely require fingerpicking, but it is most definitely possible. I'll put it on my to-do list.
If you must know, I am a very intelligent person and have been accepted to a top university. I am also a very accomplished guitarist myself - my youtube videos do not fairly demonstrate my caliber, though some of them are not half bad.
i have to agree that this music is ahead of its time cause right now i think that was fricking annoying. a bunch of staccato hammer-ons and no feeling. reinhardt à la yngwie malmsteen.
:DDD this isnt jazz for me btw. this is good music. the 1955 big band stuff is jazz, at least thats what "jazzers" say and thast what you must love, otherwise you wont be able to be a "jazzer". pfffff to the jazz scene :D at least switzerland stucks, really.
The fact he's playing the clarinet part as well is testament to how great this man is as a guitarist. Cheers to you, Stochelo !
I remember watching this video about 10years ago when youtube was new. It is criminally under viewed
What a sick, twisted genius of a man. Wonderful.
This is the same tune played by Jimmy Rosenberg as an intro to Limehouse Blues on that N.Y. Django festival CD in 2000 or 2001. Great stuff.
I just get hypnotized by his right hand. So damn good. ❤

This is better than the original.
Oufff, quel guitariste ce Stochelo…….
J'adore.

This old Django tune sounds like a collection of exercises to get faster.
Fitzliputzli23 my thoughts exactly
+Fitzliputzli23 In a way like Paganini's Caprices
i can report that its also a great way to get extremely frustrated
@@GTrules123 they were
@@handdancin nah

My thoughts youtube???...... I found it, I'm learning it and then...well, heheh being cooler than my friends of course. :)
That’s all good and fine, now let’s do this using only 3 fingers :) love it, thanks!!
Oh sorry for my ignorance i thought "Rythme futur" was some kind of comment on some of the things Stochelo was doing in this video.
Thank you anyway
wow -- I never made that connection before, but the similarities are remarkable. Maybe Danny Elfman owes Django some royalties!
@CroissantOrange I was using the nomenclature introduced by the previous commenter to refer to the specific parts of this piece in a way that he would understand. I do not understand where you derive the rest of your argument, or how you expect anyone to parse it.
Bello
@flamencodiablo007 there is a powertab at ultimate guitar :)
"Rythme futur" composed by Django Reinhardt.

How long did it take you to realize that? Couple of days?
This is for the happy view
Not for us humans.
@eugenecraddock Why because this is a fast song?
Yes, Si, Oui
Is this an exercise song from one of his DVDs or something? It looks like a great warmup for playing!
next time that x factor shit comes out let's get this to number 1
now i know where the simpsons theme got the inspiration from :D
@lepine840202
no it's Stochelo's one.
Is he picking everything?
got a powertab file of it i can email ya
Stop asking for tab! He's playing it in front of you, if you are not willing to put in the work you don't deserve to play GJ
anyone who knows what the tune is called?
@sintygypsy I might be dredging up old water, here, but I never really check my comment replies. No, I maintaing my original comment. @sintygypsy
Te ave baxtalo!
haha yes could be :)
I was disappointed when I realized he was not playing both parts simultaneously.
You also forget Moreno bolero who is as good as bireli, if not better
Not long, really. At first I thought he may have been playing the bass line on open strings at points.
give me your email.... I've got django's version and stochelo's one...
This is slow?! Damn.

M1
hahaha yeah. its a lesson :P

Surtout rester propre...
Minchia!

Wow, really? Are you serious?
....becouse you cant play it? :):)
man, I love most gipsy jazz, but this song is really annoying and horrible to listen to...and it sticks to your mind
its not too much whole tone half tone. more a kind of lydian feel to me. well anyways.. jazz sucks ;)
I hate this song It's make me grazy 🤪
